The best-selling book on heart disease, updated with the latest research and clinical findings on high-fat/ketogenic diets, sugar, genetics, and other factors.

Heart disease is the number-one killer. However, traditional heart disease protocols - with their emphasis on lowering cholesterol - have it all wrong. Emerging science is showing that cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart disease and that standard prescriptions for lowering it, such as ineffective low-fat/high-carb diets and serious, side-effect-causing statin drugs, obscure the real causes of heart disease. Even doctors at leading institutions have been misled for years based on creative reporting of research results from pharmaceutical companies intent on supporting the $31-billion-a-year cholesterol-lowering drug industry.

The Great Cholesterol Myth reveals the real culprits of heart disease, including inflammation, fibrinogen, triglycerides, homocysteine, belly fat, triglyceride to HDL ratios, and high glycemic levels.

This is easily one of the best and most informative books I've listened to in 2023. I listened to between a 125 and a 150 books a year, and this is definitely in my top 3..

Excellent treatise on current issues related to coronary heart disease. These authors offer state-of-the-art findings on diet, medication and environmental factors that affect our health as related to our heart. I am amazed at how many of their findings contradict current thinking by those doctors who deal with this subject every day. Almost every instance in which I attempt to discuss these issues with a medical doctor, their position appears to be based on either what they learned in medical school, or some other area of tradition that I am taken back at their lack of understanding of what is presented herein. This guide is well researched and associated with many studies where there is a significant population of data that makes their findings relevant.

if the data in this book is true, the lies that politicians and pharmaceutical companies give to us should be a chargeable offense. some very good insight on actual cases and studies that will make me try several of the alternatives.
