Publisher's summary

Sixteen years is a long time. In a marriage, it’s a milestone. On the gridiron, it’s a miracle. Reed Johnson wants more time for everything, but time is funny that way.

It can be cruel.

With a body that can’t quite take the hits it used to and a heart tired of being torn in two different directions, Reed is faced with a reality he’s not quite ready for - life without the game. He became a man under Friday night game lights and in college stadium tunnels, and without the grit and the glory that’s earned 10 yards at a time, he’s afraid of what kind of man he’ll be.

But there’s more than a game at stake now.

Reed’s wife, Nolan, is afraid, too. She’s seen what can happen when the love of her life pushes himself too hard, and she can’t escape the nightmares she relives after almost losing her entire world to one single play on the field.

There is no compromise when it comes to football. Same goes for the heart. You’re either all in, or you get crushed. For Reed and Nolan, the clock is ticking down. Time...it does that. One way or another, they’re going to have to make a choice.

This is their hail Mary.

This is win or lose.

Beautiful

What a beautiful story told in this three book series! I am going to listen to them again! This final book took the story full circle and allowed these characters to fully develop into adulthood after watching them start as high school freshmen in the first book. It is lovingly told and fully emotional. Wow! Just wow!

Best of the series

I enjoyed this book the best of the 3 because it was very well written. It also was the most developed hitting a wide array of emotions including humor. The other books did not have the depth that this one has perhaps it is more mature because the characters are matured. (However, I still wanted to slap the FMC from time to time... gosh she can be annoying and negative!)

The book dealt with very complex issues and the author really captured the internal struggles we all feel when confronted with careers, extended family & growing older. I was quite touched.

I like the narration but didn't love it... the female narrator had an odd lisp from time to time. it sounded like she was trying to put on airs. Luckily the content was terrific.

The perfect ending to an awesome series

I loved this series so much. Some parts were absolutely devastating, but most were wonderful. I really liked that Ginger went into this last book showing that even though they were married and loved each other and they seemed to have that fairytale romance, their marriage wasn’t perfect. Although, Reed and Nolan were irritating at times, I found myself wanting to shout “just communicate and all your problems will go away!!!” I really loved all of the characters. I’m really glad I got into this and I’m eager to listen to more of what Ginger Scott has to offer.

Full story

I loved this series! It is rare that you get a series that takes 1 couple from beginning to end of their lives. From high school to old age. Seriously a new fan of Ginger Scott!

Very relatable

This book was by far the best in the series. It gives a relatively relatable story line. The portrayal of how emotional life can be is spot on. It’s a fairy tail love story full of ups and downs. Certain parts made me shed a few tears. Highly recommend this series of books.

Phenomenal read!!

Gahh....these characters definitely make your heart hurt some! They just finally got back together and worked everything out (and had a great teasing epilogue) at the end of the last book and bam....opening lines break your heart! Lol. This was another fantastic story in this series! To truly feel what these characters have been through, reading the previous books will make a big difference. They guys are meant to be but they have had to work and overcome so much! I loved getting to see them as adults and years later though and watch them continue to love each other and even though they are struggling and know they have issues, they still want to fix them and truly love each other. This book is about them finding a way to come back to each other, a way to communicate clearly again and come to a middle ground. This book had me fully engaged from beginning to end and had my emotions all over the place with them! I loved getting more of Nolan and Reed and their close circle of friends. I truly enjoyed this story and this series and just utterly adored Nolan and Reed! I will definitely be reading more by this author and would love to get the daughter's story possibly or anything else set in this world as I adored it so much and feel so invested in it.
The narrators did a phenomenal job with this and they even had their voices sounding older than the previous book. It was a great little touch that just continued to bring the story to life and add that extra dynamic to it. You can hear the emotions in their voices and thoughts throughout the story! Very well done!

Marriage isn't easy!

I love that Ginger Scott gave us a realistic look at marriage. It always irks me because people just think marriage is easy and you don't have to work for it. That is so totally wrong. Marriage is hard. You have to be willing to put the work into it or there is no reason to try. I loved seeing Nolan and Reed as adults and working through a marriage with problems. I enjoyed the progression of the entire trilogy. The narration was done very well. I'm always so happy when the book has a dual POV and used the necessary person in narration.
