Publisher's summary

House witch Finlay Ashowan is pulled out of the kitchen—and into the fire—as war, family, and love collide in the third book of this fantasy romance series.

Having somehow convinced Lady Annika Jenoure to marry him, all Finlay Ashowan wants to do is settle down, cook some good meals, and enjoy a quiet life in Daxaria. But fate has different plans.

Fin’s father, Aidan Helmer, fire witch and servant of King Matthias of Troivack, has arrived in the kingdom with devastating news: Annika’s brother Charles has been taken prisoner, and the only way his life will be spared is if Annika or Fin goes to plead his case. Given that an attack from Troivack is imminent, there’s no way some trickery isn’t involved in this plot.

Now it’s up to Fin, with the help of his family, friends, and wily kitten familiar, Kraken, to attempt a daring mission of rescue and espionage. But he’ll need to move quickly—because if he can’t find a way to fend off his father and keep Daxaria safe, all his dreams might go up in flames.

With twists and turns around every corner, The House Witch 3 brilliantly continues this irresistible new series, replete with romance, magic, courtly intrigue, mystery, and humor.

The third volume of the hit romantic-fantasy series—with more than a million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

light hearted, entertainment.

lots of tongue in cheek humor with a tinge of romance in a free rambling plot. i really loved the male dominated plot with the strong female characters. you don't just go from A to B, you deviaye & take sidetracks & end up where you need to be. don't read this when you're hungry - too many good food references. HaHa.

Terrific

Just as much fun as the first two. This one has more action and we learn a lot more about the magic. Overall, continues with the same high quality.

You don't often find a series book that the writing continues to be amazing.. House witch three was just as good as house witch one and two . I also have to say thank you for Changing kraken's voice it made the audiobook so much better.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Characters are unique and lovable and they grow and change as needed. I love that there is always something new and unexpected. The story is magnificent but the reader makes it so much better. I couldn't stop listening to this.

Just plain fun

While, here and there, you will encounter acknowledgements of social justice issues, the book is just plain fun and entertainment. I do, however, have two complaints: (1) the women’s voices and accents. Terrible. Just, awful really. He does such a wonderful job with the majority of the male characters. The women sound, for the most part, all alike — heavy, masculine-like voices with strange inflections. He gave such character to the various male characters; very little to the female characters. Some of the dialects were just…weird. (2) Kraken. I. LOVED. KRAKEN. His voice, however, was as bad as, if not worse than, the female voices. He went from an inner city hood rat voice, to this very upper crusty, haughty voice. It was a bit jarring. His character deserved better.

There were times, throughout all three books, that I just laughed and exclaimed out loud. The House Witch series is such a good time!

AMAZING

I love everything about the story but why did they change Kraken's voice from city cat to refined gentleman cat?

Great ending for an awesome series!

This was such a great finale to the series! Emotional highs & lows, surprising plot lines, and a continuation of wonderful characters. Along with a satisfying wrap-up to the series, although I wish it wasn’t done…
