Publisher's summary

An escaped killer. A troubled investigator. Secrets that haunt the past and present.

The Violet Darger series continues with this gripping short, The Last Victim.

New crimes lead FBI profiler Victor Loshak to revisit former scenes and witnesses in the Las Vegas area. The evidence suggests the return of a notorious and brutal serial killer from years ago - the one who got away.

Loshak conceals his work from his partner, Violet Darger, and tries desperately to stay one step ahead of both her and the murderer.

Leonard Stump is back. Maybe. And things are about to get so much worse.

While the Darger books can be heard in any order, here is the chronological order of the series:

Survivor's Guilt

This teaser is a great setup for the next Violet Darger novel. It’s just enough to whet your appetite. It provides a background for who the infamous serial killer Leonard Stump is and introduces you to Claire Garcia, my new favorite woman next to Violet Darger. I can’t wait for the next book! I can tell already that I’m going to burn through it in a few days based on this prequel.

Left me wanting more

I love the Loshack novels but this one definitely left me wanting more. I guess that was the point. Bravo McBain and Vargas!

Feel left out

Bought this book to get the rest of the story, and it ended the same way, leaving you hanging as to what happens to Stump. Really disappointed, feel cheated. How many more books do I have to buy to get the full story.

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

You should read this book before GIRL IN THE SAND, it is a good background before GIRL in the Sand.

no thrill or suspense

1 hours of this 90 minute book is just background on the friendship of 2 young girls? If you are expecting a story this is not it.. maybe I misunderstood and this is just a book intro... disappointing
