Publisher's summary

One dinner party will destroy everything.

The night that throws a wrecking ball into Abby’s life starts out perfectly at first. There’s still a hint of summer sun in the purple-streaked sky. Abby and her best friend, Sienna, look on fondly as their two husbands laugh under the garden gazebo. None of them know it’s the last time they will be together again.

What starts out as just a little fun has devastating consequences for the couples. Alone with Sienna’s husband, Greg, Abby finds him unexpectedly charming. Caught up in the moment, she reveals a secret she swore never to tell. And something happens that night that neither she nor Greg can take back.

Abby is desperate to tell her husband and Sienna the truth but can’t risk Greg sharing what she told him. She has no choice but to keep quiet. Then Greg suddenly disappears.

Is her best friend’s husband simply running from his secrets? Or has someone decided they can’t risk that he may share theirs?

From number one best-selling author Kathryn Croft comes a gripping and twisty psychological thriller perfect for fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train.

The complexity of the characters

This book had me guessing until almost a very end. Being the amateur sleuth that I am, I figured it out. Very enjoyable, and I liked the readers.

creative with lots of twist

easy to continue once the story starts. however some unanswered questions still lingers from all of the plot twists.

Slow at first but gets better

It started kind of weird and slow to me but I am glad I stuck with it, it has a lot of twists and I didn’t see the end coming.

Skipped half of it

It's filled with repitition and drags on and on. I literally listened to the first couple of hours then skipped to the last and the characters were still going on about the same thing. The plot twist in the end would probably have hit harder if the book was edited better.
The performance also got to me as there's no effort made to differentiate between the characters.

Too much repetition

I finally stopped listening midway them jumped to the two epilogues. The story had too much repetition about the same feelings and I got bored. Disappointed as I usually like these types of psychological dramas.

Good enough, but kind of annoying at times

The overall story was good enough, and worth listening to, but about halfway through the story, you realize if only the characters would actually talk to each other and be honest, they could have worked things out. Like this book could be much shorter if the characters communicated with each other. It got annoying.

Husbands

Great story with too many twists to count and a great narrator. And it was a free audiobook with Premium subscription!

unlikable characters

Really annoying characters. All of them. And the amount of overreacting, jumping to false conclusions is ridiculous.

A bit long but worth it. Kept guessing till the end

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was a tad bit too long in my opinion, there were times i just wanted it to get to the point. But overall a good listen. As someone who always tries to guess the endings or plot i was kept guessing till the reveals. The way she introduced characters and motives really made me want to keep going so i could figure it out. I was invested. Definitely recommend
