Publisher's summary

An apocalyptic virus. A crisis consultant. A 24-hour head start.

In 2035, in a hopelessly broken world, Nick Ritter is The Posh Prepper, a gifted crisis consultant who sells disaster-survival plans to rich and powerful clients.

Haunted by corrupt clients and a tragic past, Nick lives a reclusive life in overcrowded Boston, counting the days until he can retire to his survival ranch in New Zealand.

But when he gets an insider tip that a deadly virus is tearing through Boston, Nick has 24 hours to escape the city and flee to New Zealand. He has the perfect survival plan, but there’s just one problem…it doesn’t account for company.

As he scrambles toward safety, Nick picks up a ragtag group of followers:

Abby Blackwell, a pregnant teen runaway, is hiding a dark secret. If she can outrun her troubled past, she can start a new life. But trusting anyone could put everyone in danger.

Brian Donahue, a washed-up Navy SEAL, is scraping by as an escape pilot. Torn between family and duty, he’ll risk everything to complete this final mission.

Dana Foster, an overworked ER doctor, is haunted by human suffering. As the outbreak spreads, she faces an impossible choice: Who should they save?

Now Nick must call on his disaster-planning skills to survive, facing off against a collapsing society to protect his newfound family and save mankind from extinction.

The Posh Prepper is a dark, tense, fast-paced apocalyptic thriller with an unforgettable cast of complex characters. Perfect for fans of T.L. Payne, Grace Hamilton, and Kyla Stone.

Wow

I could totally identify with each character as they became a close knit family despite the chaos going on around them. Sometimes, we have to make hard decisions that comes at great sacrifice! Totally great book and Mr. Pinchot, what a great job you did with this story!!

Loving Todd Knight…want more

I’m an apocalyptic junkie, from zombies to political rant survival, The Posh Prepper is absolutely in my wheelhouse and was perfectly refreshing and new. It was just a great story, kept me interested and I loved every single character, even TJ! I love to be a fly on the wall and watch characters grow, especially when they are so well written it’s easy to connect with them.
Bronson Pinchot was, as expected, freaking fantastic, bringing each character and Todd Knights world to life. Thank you both for a bit of distraction from this crazy world.

the story line was great

the quiet speaking drove me crazy. I tried adjusting the sound settings on both my 2021 Silverado and my phone but couldn't hear the speaker when talked quiet. good book , bad monotone voice

Fasted paced, entertaining

I enjoyed this book. I loved the character development. My couple of constructive criticisms would be that there was sometimes too much detail, eg. near end of book they played a game. The game was boring and too detailed for me. Also the capture and then recapture and recapture again of pregnant young woman was too repetitive for me. Overall, for a first book, it was awesome. Thank you.

A new favorite author!

This story is a different take on an apocalyptic world. The main character Nick is not only a prepper, but a professional prepper who makes "posh" survival plans for the wealthy and elite who purchase his services.

When a virus is released into the world, Nick attempts to activate his own survival plan but ends up with a crew of people he comes to care about almost against his own will.

I really liked this author's writing style. There is a lot of action with almost 'edge of the seat' type tension. Most of all, I loved how I came to care about the individual characters. The wife of the pilot is a favorite for sure :-)

The narrator was very good. Nice voice, easy to listen to. He did a great job with a variety of voices and sounds.

The only problem is it looks like I have to wait almost a whole year for the next book in this series!

First Book...Knocked Out Of The Park

Wow! Just got to say, Wow!! I used to work at bookstores (1 major, 1 for Black and Native Americans). Often did and still do pre-publishing reads for revisions and reviews. For a first book, Todd Knight knocked it out of the park!! Excellent characters, clearly drawn, especially Nick, his thought processes and reasoning, how his heart was changed and why. Really loved Brian, the Navy Seal and Herman, the handyman with the open heart.

Why? Because most apocalyptic genre books are very, very "white", as if prepping doesn't cross all races and communities. There's also a lot of distain towards people who believe in YHWH or have any respect for anything except science. Brian's family prays, yet there's no disrespectful commentary or disparaging comments, looks or attitudes sent their way. Another of my pet peeves is how people with disabilities are explained away by saying that they all die within the first 72hrs, as are most of the folks over 60, unless the main character is allowed to have a parental figure, usually widowed, with some kind of major-skill set who's too stubborn to die off until this knowledge has been passed along.🤔🙄 These are common themes that Todd Knight simply didn't utilize at all. To the contrary, his characters are a melting pot of all kinds of Americans, both good and bad or somewhere in between. For this reason alone he gets a Huge Bonus Point.

I'm wondering if Todd will address Isaiah 2:19-21 and Rev6:15-17 in some pivotal way in regards to any of Nick's former clients. Hopefully he also has an answer regarding the little blind girl in the mine in the works. It would be great if she survived somehow and had been taken to the US for treatment. These two questions alone pretty much guarantee I'll get the rest of the trilogy, particularly if they are also on Audible.

Bronson Pinchot really did a fine job narrating, best I've heard from him. Can't wait for the next one.

I thought with the name it would be awful but...

This book is actually very entertaining and much better on plot than about 90% of other titles in the genre. I actually laughed at myself for purchasing something called "The Posh Prepper." I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually really liked the book. The narration is excellent. The authors who end up with a male narrator in this genre seem to end up with the same one, who can't do more than one voice and has zero voice acting ability. When Bronson ends up on one of these it's so refreshing!

Loved this book, looking forward to more!

The Posh Prepper is a well written, action-packed story, with well-developed characters, character growth, and potential for more story line development in additional books. The story, while fiction, isn’t “out there” - it’s based in reality. All of this could happen, in our reality, if the right person/people had their way. This is a great book that I would highly recommend. I look forward to the second, and hopefully more, books in this series.

The Concept Was Good

Had a hard time getting thru this one bcz the TJ was so horrible. I don’t think anyone in real life would put up with him.
Other characters were good.
