Publisher's summary

What if the smartest people in the world understand something that the rest of us don't? (They do.) What if they know that in order to achieve success, they will sometimes have to do things that others may initially perceive as stupid? The fact of the matter is that the smartest people in the world don't run from stupid, they lean into it (in a smart way).

In The Power of Starting Something Stupid, Richie Norton redefines stupid as we know it, demonstrating that life-changing ideas are often tragically mislabeled stupid. What if the key to success, creativity, and fulfillment in your life lies in the potential of those stupid ideas? This deeply inspiring book will teach you:

  • How to crush fear, make dreams happen, and live without regret.
  • How to overcome obstacles such as lack of time, lack of education, or lack of money.
  • The 5 actions of the New Smart to achieve authentic success.

No more excuses. Learn how to start something stupid - the smartest thing you can do. Drawing on years of research, including hundreds of face-to-face interviews and some of the world's greatest success stories past and present, Richie shows you how stupid is the New Smart - the common denominator for success, creativity, and innovation in business and life.

Definitely reccomend it

Great overall book. Very enlightening on the subject of the fear of undertaking a project that bares skepticism. My only complaint was that there was a great deal of example stories (While the stories were good, I thought there was perhaps too many). Aside from that, it was an excellent book.

This book gave me some great ideas I’ve never heard before.

This is the kind of book that could help you explore ideas you haven’t heard before like getting something great out of stupid ideas and many more supporting success stories. I would read it over and over again to help create a new positive groove to my brain so that I can reach my wildest dreams to enable me to help more people in need.

a great intro to your dreams.

This is a great guide towards convincing you to start and steps to help you to improve your self and your strategy. I feel that most people should read this book regardless if they want to start something stupid or not. It would at least help people realize when they are stuck and help them push through the standard, the mundane, and the toxic and actually create a door to a potentially better path.

Inspirational and helpful

Although this book is general since it applies to any stupid idea, it still offered concrete advice to get you going and get you thinking about how to make it happen. A great read!

Real wisdom. Real talk.

Richie has been quick to observe and learn from his life experiences. He couples that ability with his gift to communicate and creates an uplifting and enlightening experience for all readers.
