Shabby and lumbering, with a face like a Norfolk dumpling, Father Brown makes for an improbable super-sleuth. But his innocence is the secret of his success: refusing the scientific method of detection, he adopts instead an approach of simple sympathy, interpreting each crime as a work of art, and each criminal as a man no worse than himself… Here you will find the complete Father Brown stories in the chronological order of their original publication. The Innocence of Father Brown Starts at Chapter 1, The Wisdom of Father Brown Starts at Chapter 13.

Story
Tess Strebel can’t recognize her own face. She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband. Tess reads a letter in her own handwriting, composed during a rare lucid day, explaining her life as it now exists: she was in a terrible car accident one year ago. Every morning, she wakes up unable to remember most of the last decade. Including her own wedding.

Exclusively from Audible. The Secret Agent is based on an actual attempt made in 1894 to blow up the Greenwich Observatory. A labyrinth of greed, corruption, and betrayal, it is the most darkly humorous of all Conrad's tales. It follows a European secret agent, Adolf Verloc, 'a London shop owner' with anarchist leanings who becomes reluctantly involved in a plot to blow up the Greenwich Observatory. Full of great characters, melodramatic irony and psychological intrigue the tale is far from simple....

Wasn't expecting that..
Would you consider the audio edition of The Scarecrow (Excerpt) to be better than the print version?
i have never seen the printed version but I am pretty sure I it is all the same. short and sweet.
What was most disappointing about Michael Connelly’s story?
this was a very short story, I honestly didn't look at the minutes before I purchased this book. I was thinking I was going to get into another Harry Bosch story or something similar to it, but that isn't what this is.
What does Peter Giles bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
emotion.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
N/A

BE CAREFUL ... this is a 5 minute snippet,
I'm in agreement w/ so many others, that this does not belong in the library at all. I've began with Audible in 2008, well before Amazon took over. Then, it was a great site, I could trust it and not feel I needed to double check what I was seeing. If this were on TV, it would be a commercial or a teaser. Yes, it says Excerpt, but silly me never thought they'd stoop to this level. Amazon has damaged the value of Audible, and this is an example of how diluted the content has become. It is no wonder they are giving it away. It is useless and should just go into the trash. Sorry, Michael Connelly. You just missed the chance to gain a fan.

Nice book
I started reading one of the Noble Intentions series books, discovering quickly that there must be prequels. Too many references to characters and events the one should be aware of. A couple of quick searches located the Jack Noble books in published sequence. I'm glad I did, and this book, Noble Beginnings, was the first.
