Publisher's summary
From the author who's inspired millions worldwide with books like Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven comes his most imaginative novel yet, The Time Keeper--a compelling fable about the first man on earth to count the hours.
The man who became Father Time.
In Mitch Albom's newest work of fiction, the inventor of the world's first clock is punished for trying to measure God's greatest gift. He is banished to a cave for centuries and forced to listen to the voices of all who come after him seeking more days, more years. Eventually, with his soul nearly broken, Father Time is granted his freedom, along with a magical hourglass and a mission: a chance to redeem himself by teaching two earthly people the true meaning of time.
He returns to our world--now dominated by the hour-counting he so innocently began--and commences a journey with two unlikely partners: one a teenage girl who is about to give up on life, the other a wealthy old businessman who wants to live forever. To save himself, he must save them both. And stop the world to do so.
Told in Albom's signature spare, evocative prose, this remarkably original tale will inspire readers everywhere to reconsider their own notions of time, how they spend it and how precious it truly is.

When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn't have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. But the lecture he gave - "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" - wasn't about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because "time is all you have... and you may find one day that you have less than you think").

One of the most revered works in English literature, Great Expectations traces the coming of age of a young orphan, Pip, from a boy of shallow aspirations into a man of maturity. From the chilling opening confrontation with an escaped convict to the grand but eerily disheveled estate of bitter old Miss Havisham, all is not what it seems in Dickens’ dark tale of false illusions and thwarted desire.

It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Endless ice. Thin air. The threat of dropping into nothingness thousands of feet below. This is the climb Silvia Vasquez-Lavado braves in her pulse-raising memoir. A Latina hero in the elite macho tech world of Silicon Valley, privately, she was hanging by a thread. Deep in the throes of alcoholism, hiding her sexuality from her family, and repressing the abuse she’d suffered as a child, she started climbing. Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

A vicious 15-year-old droog is the central character of this 1963 classic, a frightening fable about good and evil, and the meaning of human freedom. Good Story, Wonderfully Narrated
Would you listen to The Time Keeper again? Why?
Yes; this telling of time with relativity is quite inventive and unique. Pair that with Dan Stevens's narrative voice & distinction of the characters made it a great listen for my ears and gave me a better imaginative viewing than if I had read it (which, I have never read this book).
What did you like best about this story?
Spoiler alert: One of my favorite passages, "chapter" in the story when it was describing Dor's 100 years to "our" 1 Day. How Mitch Albom wrote about time itself, and much how many reviewers have said, this book does an incredible job of making you rethink about time.
What about Dan Stevens’s performance did you like?
Dan gave each character such a unique distinction, quirks; there were times I seriously questioned if he was truly voicing every character because I could not imagine that it was him.

A Must Listen! Spare the Time!
A thought inspiring romantic tragedy with all the intrigue of the best thriller. Boundless by time, Mitch Album has the inspired gift of imagination in this wonderful story. A boy, a girl, an old man, a wanderer, and a twist of fate underpin another masterpiece.
Thanks to Dan Stevens for brining these pages to life.

It will take several more passes before I get a hold of all this short book's content. It does take a bit to establish the story. While there are specific lessons to learn, I think there is room left to come to your own conclusions and learn your own lessons.

Love Mitch Albom stories
As all stories that I’ve read by Mitch Albom, this one had an interesting and compelling theme. Time is so essential and something we often wish to speed up or slow down… and, it’s something that we inherently are tied to no matter what. Well written with twists, I enjoyed this.

Meh
I read this book for a school forced summer reading assignment. I am personally not a Mitch Albom fan, just to put that out there, I have read quite a few of his books for school assignment, but never found them captivating or interesting, and this one is no exception. It is not awful, just not my type of book, as I prefer complex stories with plot twists, completing characters, and suspense. There was absolutely nothing I didn’t expect in this book, by the first chapter I could already tell you exactly what was going to happen, and everything that I predicted, did happen, there was nothing I don’t see coming. So before spending the next 5 hours of your life on this book think about this this summery of the book: An old man wants to live forever, a teenage girl doesn’t want to live, and they are both visited by the man who created time.
Also may I say the narrator is incredibly SLOW, and I had the entire book at 3 times speed and had no problem understanding.

The Moral Fantasy
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
yes
Any additional comments?
I suppose it makes you think about the meaning of life - if you didn‘t already know. The idea of the book sounded very interesting to me, but after reading it, I found that, although it was interesting, it wasn't my kind of book. It was definitely not a waste of time and it did keep my interest to see how it ended, but it's not a book that I would ever read twice.
