Publisher's summary

He told me he loved me, then abandoned me.

My sister was his first choice. Too bad for him, I refused to be his second.

Dante Leone was bad news with a gorgeous exterior and a dangerous mind. Emotionally unavailable and slightly unhinged, he was a heartbreak waiting to happen. Again.

I ran. He gave chase and my fate was sealed.

Roaming the world, I searched for a vital part of me. There'd be no new beginning until I found my answers. My taste of freedom was sweet, yet lonely. And oh, so fleeting.

I should have known he would catch up to me. After all, he thrived on the chase. I'd learned that the hard way.

But guess what?

I was no longer the woman he seduced all those years ago. I no longer believed the pretty lies that passed his lips nor the false promises in his deceitful eyes.

My name is Phoenix Romero, and I'd make the rules this time around.

Like my namesake, I had risen from the ashes and this time, I would be the one to make him burn.

Long, with so much tension

Eva Winners has written another heart-stopping story. Love this series so far. This was a longer audiobook that had my day flying vs dragging on. I was so invested in the characters. I wondered if we'd ever get to the HEA, but there was so much going on and I was riveted. We got flash backs of years before within the present time. A few times it confused me. My heart physically ached as there were quite a few painful events throughout. I have so much to say, but no spoilers from me! I will be listening to this again.

Connor Crais and Felicity Munroe are excellent narrators! They were perfectly cast for the characters and had this rolling in my head like a movie. Their performances were emotional and entertaining.

Dante and Phoenix -- DUET NARRATION!

What a wonderfully twisty and turny adventure this was! Grabbed my interest right from the start and didn't let go. Neither main character knows the whole truth about what happened to the other, and the past for each is only revealed a little at a time. This was my first book by Eva Winner. I did not read or listen to any of the other books in the series. I bought the audio because of Connor Crais, who narrated with Felicity Munroe. There was lots of action and strong emotions in this one and it all came through in Connor's and Felicity's acting! I absolutely loved the DUET narration and the British, French and Italian accents gave this such a rich, European vibe As for the character of Dante, I can't imagine finding a better fit for the role than Connor Crais with his silky, smooth, seductive voice.

Exceptional Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Emotional!

Eva Winners blows me away with another amazing novel set in her equally amazing “Thorns of Omertà” series. This fourth book of the series is Dante Leone and Phoenix Romero’s story, an enemies-to-lovers mafia romance with twists and turns that keep you thinking and on your toes. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held it captive the entire time. Wow, Eva Winners put these two through the wringer and made them work for their happily ever after, and I was rooting for them the entire time. The two were young lovers, but with so many things going against them, they never stood a chance. Dante broke Phoenix’s heart, and she avoided seeing him for years, but when the two were in the same place, it was unavoidable and Dante felt a connection to her like no other, but Phoenix only felt hate. But there is a thin line between love and hate and Dante was not giving up on her and it became like a cat-and-mouse game until he finally catches up to her. Phoenix was on her own mission to get back something that never should have been taken from her. I loved how everything played out in this book, the complexity of the characters and all the layers to the story, which has the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moments and steamy romance. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. It was great to see some familiar faces from earlier series, including Sasha and Branka. Eva Winners, thank you for another exceptional story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Connor Crais and Felicity Munroe did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, and they understood who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Monroe nailed it as Phoenix, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her vulnerabilities and sorrow to her fierceness and determination and all in between. Crais was just as amazing in his role as Dante, showcasing all aspects of his personality as well, including his passiveness and alpha-tude. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevated this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Loved the heroine

I love how the heroine was so strong with him physically. She kept her walls as erect as they should have been with that kind of betrayal. It made me respect the sh;t out of her. I also loved that thru everything she threw at him, while battling his inner turmoil, he remained madly in love and in pursuit of her. God I love a stalker! I just read Hans and now this one - I feel like I won’t be able to top these “stalkery and madly in love” heros!

Dark, Mafia read...

Thornes of Silence is the fourth book in the Thornes of Omerta series. It's a dark, mafia, amnesia, secret pregnancy, romantic suspense. This one is angsty, full of twists and turns, emotional roller coaster ride. I loved Phoenix and Dante's story. You get all the feels and smoking hot chemistry between them. It was an enjoyable book.

Connor Crais and Felicity Munroe did a great job portraying these characters.

Memoriable- His Dandelion

This is one of my favorite books. I have come back to it three times now, however, this is the first time listening to the original audio and right when I think I couldn't love it anymore. Where do I start the story, the characters, the hero(swoon). You will get pulled into this story and you feel every part of it and that is truly the best when a story can make you feel so much and then still think about it after.
The narrators hands down incredible. Connor Crais and Felicity Munroe just amazing. The love, the longing the pain Connor gave to Dante's voice memorable I can not forget it and will probably listen again soon because of it. I don't believe I've had the honor of the female narrator before but she is going on my list to look out for now because she literally gave Phoenix a voice with her having lost her hearing she uses ASL to communicate but the sass, attitude and strength was given to her and felt in this audio. Oh my if you haven't listened yet do it please if you have read the book please listen to this audio. Lastly, Dandelion by Ruth B will forever be the go to song for this story for me. I listen on repeat whenever I finish it. Ok that all.

Emotional with amnesia

Phoenix and Dante so much pain, suffering and not willing to talk to each other to ease there suffering from each other. As we know from the stolen Empire trilogy Phoenix when into hiding and has a child. What we didn't know where that child came from and who has the baby. It all started when Phoenix was 18 years old and given birth to a child and at this point Dante was kidnapped and two years later Dante loss his memories and he doesn't remember.
Phoenix has been faking happiness and also searching for her child. Dante has been stalking Phoenix and hurting any man who get close to her because between those two years he hasn't felt anything until he see Phoenix in the night club were Reina was drugged. His memories start to give him images of a woman calling his name and he like being close to Phoenix because it bring him peace. Will get flashback of Phoenix and Dante past.
Phoenix hates Dante with a passion and she show him every time they have see each other but Dante has become obsessed with her. To even burning down a restaurant just because Phoenix date took her there.
Love that Eva Winners goes back to Stolen Empire scene and we get answer to scene where Phoenix and Dante were involved.

Finally Phoenix and Dante’s story 🩵

This truly was a rollercoaster of emotions. From the beginning to the end was plot twist to unexpected plot twist. I really enjoy Dante’s stalking tendencies 😂 he was really, really getting his woman one way or another. Love that the author brings character from other books and series, connecting everything into a big universe.
The narration was soo good, Felicity did an amazing job as Phoenix, she capture her essence… Connor Crais, as always, delivered a perfect performance.
