Publisher's summary
Sequestered in the blackness of the dreaded Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthas, surrounded by nameless creatures of evil, Raistlin Majere weaves a plan to conquer the darkness - to bring it under his control.
Crysania, a beautiful and devoted cleric of Paladine, tries to use her faith to lead Raistlin from the darkness. She is blind to his shadowed designs, and he draws her slowly into his neatly woven trap.
Made aware of Raistlin’s plan, a distraught Caramon travels back in time to the doomed city of Istar in the days before the Cataclysm. There, together with the ever-present kender Tasslehoff, Caramon will make his stand to save Raistlin’s soul.
Or so he believes.

Story
Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world.

Some of the parchment pages were the color of cream, thick and substantial, made to last many, many lifetimes. Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

The answer lies in the new Dragonlance novella by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, which gazes into the future of Caramon and his mage-son, and into the dark nether-past of Raistlin. Tales of sea monsters, dark elves, ice bears, hideous hydra-headed serpents, and loathsome draconian troops.
Further adventures of the kender Tas; the innkeepr Otic and young Tika; the dwarf Flint and Tanis, leader of the companions; Caramon and Raistlin, twin brothers, one, a genial warrior, the other, a sickly magician and scholar.

We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
Sergey and Marina Dyachenko mix dramatic scenes with romance, action and wit, in a style both direct and lyrical. Written with a sure artistic hand, The Scar is the story of a man driven by his own feverish demons to find redemption and the woman who just might save him. Egert is a brash, confident member of the elite guards and an egotistical philanderer. But after he kills an innocent student in a duel, a mysterious man known as “The Wanderer” challenges Egert and slashes his face with his sword, leaving Egert with a scar that comes to symbolize his cowardice.

Magic, adventure, mystery, and romance combine in this epic debut in which a young princess must reclaim her dead mother’s throne, learn to be a ruler - and defeat the Red Queen, a powerful and malevolent sorceress determined to destroy her. On her 19th birthday, Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, raised in exile, sets out on a perilous journey back to the castle of her birth to ascend her rightful throne. Plain and serious, a girl who loves books and learning, Kelsea bears little resemblance to her mother, the vain and frivolous Queen Elyssa.

Story
Some of the parchment pages were the color of cream, thick and substantial, made to last many, many lifetimes. Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

Love it, To Bad I Can't Do -5 Stars For Narration.
This book series has always been one of my favorites. Fat Caramon long before fat Thor.
I won't be finishing the first book as the narrator is emotionless and has already butchered two main character names and every time I hear him pronounce Tas as "Toss" or Kitiara as "Kittytara" I grind my teeth. Having powered through the Dragonlance Chronicals where Paul Boehmer gave each character a different voice and attitude, coming here is just awful.
Ax Norman should stick to reading technical manuals.
I hope that enough complaints about the narration will give us a new narrator like what happened when enough of us complained about the narrator of Brent Week's "The Lightbringer Saga". The first recording has some surfer dude narrating and it was awful. "Kip, i'm like totally not your father little dude." He was replaced quickly.
May as well get a refund. I'll just buy the books again.

This narrator is killing my desire to finish the series.
I loved this series to this point. Ax Norman has made this unbearable. Audible needs to find another version with someone that will put the time and effort that this series deserves. I can't be the only one putting down the entire series because this guy ruins the middle.

Great Story, not a great reader
What did you like best about Time of the Twins? What did you like least?
Best - the story is classic Weis/Hickman, the continuing story of Raistlin and Caramon is engaging and entertaining.Worst - narrator! He mispronounces characters names so often I get annoyed (btw the name is Sturm not Strum, he's not a guitar!). He's completely without passion or even interest in the subject it seems, and I have no interest in listening to him read when the closest analogy is Ben Stein's teacher from Ferris Bueller (Tanis?... Tanis?)
What was one of the most memorable moments of Time of the Twins?
The complexity of Raistlin's plan
How did the narrator detract from the book?
See Best/Worst
Was Time of the Twins worth the listening time?
No, but only because the narrator made it so.

Good book, Bad Narrating
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The Narrator... He's awefull.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Time of the Twins?
Raist and Crys doin the dirty
How did the narrator detract from the book?
So bad... Pronounced words very weird, so much that it was distracting. His tone and inflection rarely matched the mood of the story. He would seemingly finish a sentence, (awkward pause), only to read the rest of it..... Just really amature stuff.

As always, exceptional work from Weiss & Hickman.
I read this book many many years ago, and it is just as memorable and enjoyable as the first time.

If you're going to do it, do it right.
The narrator couldn't pronounce the names of the characters correctly. There's nothing more frustrating and distracting than knowing a character is named Sturm and repeatedly having him called Strom or Tas being pronounced Tahs.

Horrible Narration!
Great story! However, the narrators inconsistent pronunciation and awkward inflections were extremely distracting. I own close to 200 audiobooks and this is the first one I had trouble finishing due to such poor narration. I have a previous version that was wonderful, unfortunately, it was abridged. Maybe, in the future, they can redo this with that narrator.

Ax Norman is trash
Dragonlance is my favorite setting, but Ax Norman is the absolute worst when it comes to narrating anything. Why is Crysania praying to a paladin and not to Paladine? Where did Tas go? Why is there a Kender named Tozz in his place?

Narration is a torture
The pronouncian of names is wrong and super annoying ..
Toz. Taz tahz tohz... I would love to slap this guy. Tasslehoff. So it's TAs!
When someone says. Bkah blah with a gasp. Why are you reading.it in a joyful way. When someone is shouting why do your u whisper shout like a little girl. This is so dissapointing and ruins the experience. How does this guy pass the audition ?
Shame
