Carmen Wood travels to Chincoteague Island, over the year ending holidays, to interview for a job at the nearby NASA research center. While waiting for the interview day to arrive, she visits an old friend whose park ranger roommate, Wyatt, interrupts their reunion dinner. The chemistry between Carmen and Wyatt is electric. Unwilling to let her out of his sight, Wyatt asks her to a fundraiser he’s attending that night. As the evening wears on, and they travel around the Island taking in the sights, their time together takes the form of a challenge. Whichever one of them falls asleep first wins the challenge. The ultra competitive Carmen never loses. So, when the late morning crowns her champion, and she leaves Wyatt while he sleeps, it takes her until New Year’s Day to realize that, in Wyatt's case, winning was losing. She can only hope she isn't too late.

This story has the emotional pull of a classic Romantic Comedy, while remaining centered it in the point of view of a transgender woman. The goal is to broaden the acceptance of transgender men and women by creating an iconic transgender character no audience can ignore.
