Publisher's summary

Imagine The Fugitive meets Gone Girl.

It happens more than you might think.

One second someone’s life is totally typical, the next it’s terribly tragic.

Everything they had, everything they planned, everything they were, all of it vanishes in a flash.

Shock and sorrow leave the victim staring into tomorrow’s void, wondering: How did it happen? Who did it? And why?

What would you do if you woke to find that someone had framed you for a horrible crime and the police were at your door? What if the evidence was so compelling that even you had doubts? Would you collapse? Surrender? Question your sanity? Or would you do whatever it takes to save your family?

Riveting

Fast-paced and extremely compelling listen. Woukd also like to express sympathy for the author, as regards the note at the end of the book, and my admiration of his determination and strength. Amazing story.

Brave.

For a writer to expose vulnerability the way Tim Tigner has done is what makes good writers great, in my opinion. Whether you listen to, or read this book, you are experiencing the work of a master.

This one's bound to become a movie!

When I read the book description comparing Twisted Lives to The Fugitive, Gone Girl, and Presumed Innocent, I was skeptical. But then, Wow! Twisted Lives does deliver the action of The Fugitive, the psychological tension of Gone Girl, and the legal suspense of Presumed Innocent.

The publisher even forgot one comparison: Twisted Lives also delivers a surprising final twist like The Sixth Sense.

I got sucked into the action, mystery, and suspense from the first chapter. I found myself rooting for a father in an impossible situation, despite sensing that all was not as it seems. Before this completely unpredictable story was over, I’d been to China and Russian and inside numerous fascinating situations and circumstances. Plus I learned a lot about covert and criminal activities shaping the world today.

The narrator was fantastic! He's got a husky voice that fits the Federal Air Marshal main character well. He also did a great job with the accents and sassy detectives. I'll be looking for more books narrated by Jay Snyder.

I’ve enjoyed all of Tim Tigner’s books, but this was my favorite. I see why it took him years to write. It was worth the wait. I predict Twisted Lives will become the movie to which future books compare themselves.

Best listen of the year

Everything about Twisted Lives is great. This book is so good that I sped it up beyond my usual 1.35 listening speed to keep up with my enthusiasm for it. A combo murder mystery and spy-type thriller, the plot moves rapidly. There are twists and turns every time you think you know where it is going. The characterizations are flawless and fascinating. The dialogue rings true. And the narrator, Jay Snyder, is outstanding. Without giving anything away, make absolutely sure you listen through the Author’s Note at the end. It will blow your mind!

Unpredictable

This is one of the best whodunit books I’ve listened to in quite some time!

I always try to guess who the culprit is and many times I’m correct in my prediction. Many times I’m close but just off the mark. THIS book?! No! I was nowhere near the correct answer!

I enjoyed everything about this audiobook from the narrator to the story, the characters to the author’s note. I felt like I knew the characters personally which made it so easy to get drawn in to the story itself.

I will stop here but suffice it to say that this will be a book I listen to gain even knowing the outcome!
