Publisher's summary
In an event that shakes the foundations of the world, thousands find themselves with new powers. Initially thought to be miracles of science, prejudice and fear soon bring danger from the darkness.
Fenris Trygg lost everything he loved when the Gifting came. Cynical and bitter, he keeps himself at a distance from everyone, especially those who care about him the most. But when a charming redhead crosses his path, he may have met the one person who can tear down his walls.
Orphaned at age seventeen, Sara Gardien is vivacious and bright, while hiding a dark past. The child of Gifted parents, she shows no signs of a Gift, and fits into neither social caste. Determined to make her own way, she sets her sights on what she wants and allows nothing to stand in her way.
Two damaged souls find each other, but when a new threat strikes, can they fight past the pain to stay together and defeat a common enemy? Or will the Gifting ultimately lead to their death and destruction?
With X-Men vibes and a sprinkling of folklore, this sci-fi romance will have you asking the question—when undeniable sparks happen between two people, is it science or magic?

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Swoony X-Men meets the first season of The Flash
I loved this twisty, action-packed story about a group of people who were granted power by a big event. At first, the Gifted are accepted and acclaimed. But then jealousy sets in and persecution follows. Reminds me of a Tricia Goyer WWII novel - a high compliment indeed! There’s also an X-Men meets that first fun season of The Flash on the CW vibe with distrusted heroes, people guarding their hearts, moments of fun heroism, romance, heartbreak, and deep sacrifice.
I adored Fen, a swoony, flawed guy with a broken heart of gold who wants to save everyone around him. He’s a bit of bad boy, a bit of superhero, and all heart.

Loved it!
Amber, I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I cannot wait to hear more. It was creative, action packed, romantic and kept me on the edge of my seat. I thought about being late for church to listen to the last 5 minutes. So glad you are sharing your gift with the world.

The office meets X-men
This books is just so good!!!!!! I love the banter and the romance and the supernatural aspects of this book. It gave me all the wonderful feelings. The author has the talent for bringing me to the highest level only to throw me in the the lowest lows. She is a wizard…. It’s a must read!!!!

Great Listen
Unleashed has all the things. Action, found family, friendship, and office romance. Throw in some supernatural abilities and you’ve got a hit! Magnus does a great job, his warm earthy voice perfect for our coffee loving MC, Fenris.

Engaging characters, solid worldbuilding, highly recommended.
Highly recommended.
This novel brought to mind early X-men comics and Marvel movies. Gifted individuals struggle with misunderstanding and outright hatred while living their almost normal lives. Our characters meet against this backdrop of animosity, struggling to find friendships and understanding.
I loved the characters, the worldbuilding is familiar and yet unique enough to keep me intrigued. Great humor and dialogue between the characters. The villains were chilling.
I laughed, I cheered, I got angry at the injustice served on our characters. All the things I love in a good story.
