Publisher's summary

Left without a job and evicted from the house she so carefully turned into a home, Aria is offered two choices: move back in with her brother . . . or take the job her brother's best friend offers her.

Their lives weren't meant to collide—but everything changes when Grayson realizes that Aria is the mysterious woman behind a wildly popular vigilante platform.

She's the woman he's been falling for online, the one whose coding skills outdo his, the one he's been trying to track down.

It's her. And she's off-limits.

White Tulips!!

This is a really compelling story. I love how these 3 bounded as a unit..they luckily made each other better individuals who helped keep their demons away!! But, the white tulips were the sign.

Slow burn and spicy

I feel like the overall story was pretty good, the dialogue was a little weird at times and just seemed awkward. Overall pretty good spice wise

EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!

Not sure if I missed the trigger warnings or what but they were definitely needed!

Aria has experienced a tragedy no child should have to go through and has depended on her brother and his best friend to be her rocks and vice versa.

Grayson has been in the dark about his parentage and therefore has serious abandonment issues.

Both of their upbringings lead them to vigilante justice for those who have been wronged in life by the world and the justice system.

This plot was so different from any book in my recent memory. I loved the STEM aspect and how much was actually discussed and utilized in the story. It could’ve been a bit more detailed, but at least they actually mentioned skills and coding concepts.

For a while,I thought it was going to be a very simple A —> B story because I could not see where the secondary conflict would come in or the reasoning for the third act breakup (yes there is a third act breakup 🙃🙄). However, that conflict came in HOT and I didn’t expect it to be from that character’s background.

Some of the sex scenes from Grayson’s POV were too filled with “fucks” and “pussy”. Like I love those words as much as the next person, but it felt like he dropped one every other word for 2 minutes straight. Plus the way the narrator emphasized those words, really took me out of some of the later sex scenes.

The main conflict needs a 🚨warning, especially the confrontation in Chapter 54. My jaw dropped and my eyes welled. That was TRAUMA slapped on a page and the catalyst for the downfall and third act breakup.

Overall I finished this in one sitting because I just had to know how the cards unfolded. So far I’ve loved every Catharina Maura book I’ve read and plan to read more.

More than a brother’s best friend

Grayson and Aria had a beautiful relationship that began as friendship and blossomed into more. Both of their pasts broke my heart, but I loved how they each used their past as motivation to build something more. Their insecurities, while understandable, kept this story from being a 5 star for me. Too many decisions were made based in those insecurities oftentimes without having a conversation to verify they actually had something to be insecure about. Overall an interesting story with likable characters and enough plot points to keep the book moving and interesting.

Sweet and Compelling

I enjoyed reading this. I finished it in one weekend. To say that I couldn’t stop listening to this story and had to force myself to turn it off at 5am realizing I never got to bed! Loved how they both really loved each other.

Sweet story!

This was such a feel-good story to listen to. Catharina always writes the most swoon-worthy men, she never disappoints. The audio for this one was just perfect.

Until You

Brother’s best friend… You know I am all in. This year I have been trying to read more new to me authors so when I got this one I wanted to read it right away. Aria and Gray’s story kept me hooked. The Nyx and Ash part of the story was so good. I can’t wait to get my hands on more books by Catharine Maura.

4.8/5

This relationship was doomed from the moment I realized Grayson had to constantly fight her insecurities. It’s hard for me to hear this narrator execute the character of Grayson so well because his pain and trials were met with an insecure woman who cannot put her personal insecurities aside for HIM! Jesus Christ.

The story was actually really good but the selfishness she displayed all because of her personal insecurities killed me every single time. He searched for his mother for her to speak to him the way she did kills me. And watching him break in front of his girlfriend while she just “gave him space” gutted me.

OF COURSE he’s going to push you away! His worst nightmare didn’t even compare to the reality of what happened! COME ON! Even while he’s apologizing she was telling this man about his insecurities and how he need therapy. Like BOTH OF YALL DO GIRL! And his insecurities arguably are valid UNLIKE yours (but it’s subjective so I’ll let that one thing slide). Understandably he’s avoiding contact because he’s afraid he will hurt you meanwhile you’re thinking “my body is imperfect he doesn’t really want me” ?!!! Because of your ex that used you?!! That’s just LUDICROUS

I’m happy the epilogue didn’t end with them having a kid because while the marriage can survive with therapy the insecurities that she will seemingly unknowingly project onto their child is too much.
