I loved it! I couldn't stop listening!

Not only is the story line great the performance is too! I hope that there will be a sequel because this book is perfect for one, I honestly don't want the story to stop! it's one of those story lines that doesn't feel rushed or as though the author just threw an ending in at the last minute. I want to know what happens next, hurry and write another or maybe 10 more... Good job!

There OUt There Scully

A very good read... A fusion of sci fi and mystery/suspense thriller... You've got your first contact angle, Conspiracy theory angle, the underlying mystery both past and present, Rogue government official making life hell for everyone, journalist trying to do the right thing, and all those being repressed to keep secrets... A lotta stuff going on... My only true complaint is that the book should have been a lil longer to fill in some of the back story... Then agian, that was part of the mystery;) The characters were fleshed out very well, even w/ the short length... Narration was competent and appropriate.... The production quality of the recording was slightly subpar - even at full volume had to be close to hear adequately... I'm hoping the author has a followup planned...

Vessel

Seemed to be a first contact thriller, but it is totally spoilt by the incredibly cheesy ending. Big disappointment.

Dragging and disjointed story-line

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story jumped between numerous arks and there was no real clear definition as to when this was happening. The premise of the book was interesting but the ending is obviously intended for the second book in a series

What could Andrew J. Morgan have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The book is overburdened with arks and the like. It was very difficult to follow in some parts

What about Victor Bevine’s performance did you like?

The reading was fine, not overly enthusiastic but fine

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

audiobook is well voiced, plot slow & predictable

I struggled to finish this book. it was a slow plot that I saw coming. Thr voice actor who did the Audio version did a great job with accents, but I'm glad to be done with it so I can move to something else.

A badly-formed skeleton for an interesting story

Vessel promised a lot in terms of a novel form of first contact, but Morgan just couldn't put enough flesh on his characters to make them believable. Many times I was left wondering, "Did I just miss an important development?" Worse, there were a number of laughable plot holes (such as the alleged power of a rogue (not rogue?) agent of the U.S. Department of Defense operating in a foreign country. Wait for the rewrite on this one.

As a narrator, Bevine was okay, but his Russians often sounded like they were trying to move to New Jersey. Boris from Rocky and Bullwinkle sounded better.

A delightful scifi find, with real depth

Where does Vessel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Maybe not in the top 10, but could be in the top 25. The characters in particular are rich, have complexity, and the story arcs keep the listener engaged.

Would you recommend Vessel to your friends? Why or why not?

I actually would, for the previously iterated reasons.

What about Victor Bevine’s performance did you like?

Solid accents ( which are required ) , consistency of characterizations, which I am picky about, and authenticity. Very good job.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

We are never truly alone.

Any additional comments?

This offering snuck up on me, for alot of reasons. A quality plot, solid characters and enough intrigue and reason to keep me fully connected to the story. I highly recommend it.
