Thoroughly Enjoyed

I have been loving this series so far, I literally checked every day until the second book went on preorder after I finished the first. It has its flaws for sure but the good heavily heavily outweighs them. I’m interested in what happens next and will definitely be continuing on. Can’t wait for book three

Great 2nd book!

Our 1,000s year old MC in a 4 year old body is out for blood and revenge against the gang of thieves that have been stealing from his family's village and killed some of its residents.
He still has to struggle with the amount of mana that his little body can handle.
This is a really good series and I'm looking forward to getting book 3.
I'm giving this book 7.5 out of 5 stars.

Action!!

Good to see that now that the characters have been established there is no wasted time on talk. He establishes very firmly who is who. I like this series.
Note to author.
Don’t be afraid to give the main guy power ups. His the GUY!! And it’s a good transitional period between young Adult genre and Adult. Stop PG-13 these books.

While I enjoyed it, there are are problems

The authors inner monologues and diatribes are exhausting to go through. It’s especially grating how he lists 45 things he can’t do before he tells you the one thing he can. In fact the book reads more like some retiring college professors memoirs filled with all of his I shoulda done this or coulda done that if not for xyz. I just sped the audio up to 1.5 to deal with this but at times I was irritated.

**My 5 star rating does not make it a 5 star book just a recommendation that it’s worth listening to.**

Progression !

I love when the main character doesn’t fumble over himself and understands who he is and knows exactly the type of person he is !

5hrs in.

I had to stop after 5hrs, I really loved the premise and goals from the first book. The wineing and overthinking was too much in the first book and I was really hoping him being on his own would have at least sped up his thought process a little. It also feels like were back to step one with his magic too. In book 1 invisiblity was something expensive but still manageable, In book 2 it takes 6 cores worth for 2 seconds ? The price of magic is on a sliding scale for the authour so that just lets him add in another paragaraph wining about the mana desert again.

Better than the first…

Man, that was amazing!!! It was so satisfying seeing the Cabal members confronting Keiran and their reactions to his skill, if not power. The battles were relatively each unique having their own nuances which is a treat. The author is constantly adding to the depth of this amazing magic system.
There are several lore bombs dropped in this book that leaves hungry for more and now VERY impatiently waiting for the next…! Haha!

great second book

just as good as the first book and a excellent continuation of the story athough I do hope that some progress on the mysteries is made

man's voice

the inner monologue could be a grown man's voice I get it... but when he's speaking to others it should come out high pitched and tinny like a child. it bothers me because it could have been one of the best parts of this book.

The MC is not really likable

The book is basically hours of the main character saying how great he is and there’s no challenges. Pretty boring. Won’t be getting the next book.
