crafting and world building

I really enjoy David's attention to crafting and ability to take it to a metaphysical place beyond the norm. Sam is a likeable main who stands for good, stamps down evil, and dreams of days where he would rather be crafting and studying.

Adventure and Intrigue with Excellent Characters

I enjoy a good book with characters, and this does not fail. The author has done an excellent job and building the stage and the scene while showing the growth of the characters by attributes. Hopefully you have read the previous books or listened to them on audio books as they really show the growth and depth of the main character (not saying the name to prevent a spoiler).

The action, the drama, all while incorporating the metrics of attributes and experience are enticing for the SciFi Fantasy folks like me. The author easily weaves the role playing experience leveraging growth in character and attributes while telling a rick story with the world and even some of the galaxy.

The ending is an excellent cliffhanger leaving you on the edge of your seat for the next book. I’m a bit picky in the books I read and listen to. I like to have a series as it give me something to look forward to while building on characters I have come to enjoy. I also need to have excellent personality and definition of the characters so that I can anticipate what happens next and even more so when there is a “twist.”

Trust me, you will want to read/listen to this book/series. It will not disappoint.

Such interesting crafting

I really like this series because of it's mix of crafting (with auras) and combat. This book doesn't disappoint

Great book.

Goes from strength to strength, great story, great action that pushes the plot forward. Good landing point with the direction pointed for the next book. No cliffhangers used which is nice. The story is truly a good one, and only gets better with the number of books.

The narrators are fantastic at what they do. John does great with his range, and Stephanie does great work on the female side of things.

Looking forward to more in this series.

Our Hero is a busy bee in this book.

Lots of events occur, battles against the forces wanting to destroy Aster Fall, crafting, and politics.
Speaking of politics there is the most amusingly the dream of anyone wanting to deal with the politics of those who think they are above everyone and used to the logic of might makes right, when they have the might. With an abrupt and rude awakening for those people.
There is also lots of crafting which is one of the elements which drew me to the series to start with.
The only downside to the audio book is im still not a fan of multiple narrators.

great book but too short. SLIGHT SPOILER

this book was great! plenty of fighting, crafting, exploring, and growth. the only real complaint I have is that this book was around 5 hours shorter than the others. the thing I feel is missing from this book is the lack of personal relationships. if it had been 5 hours longer and that time focused on the avatar outside the time distortion and he went to Alora, that would have made this book much better

Smooth continuation of story

This continues the story very well and hits many great high points. The mc continues to get stronger and accomplish wonders for Asterfall. I can’t wait to listen to the next installment.

Another great book.

It’s great to see how this series has progressed. It is also excellent to see the main characters development throughout the books. I have found other book series to drag their feet and after dozens of books the main character has not matured, hardly at all. With that in mind, I would love to see many more books in this series.
