About this listen

Narcissistic abuse affects us mentally, emotionally, physically, and psychologically. The gravity of the repercussions can only be fully understood by those who have been through this type of ongoing trauma. Survivors often experience low self-esteem, a feeling of powerlessness, fear, and self-doubt. They feel shattered, confused, depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed with emotions. Symptoms of complex PTSD are common, as well as many types of chronic illness. These relationships can bring us to the depths of despair, where we wonder if it is even possible to heal.

Healing after narcissistic abuse is possible, and this book will show you how.

Debbie Mirza shares her own personal story of healing after experiencing several narcissists throughout her life, as well as simple yet powerful techniques that she has learned through her own experience, as well as years of interacting with thousands of survivors in her support group and coaching practice.

You will learn tools and practices that will empower you, bring you clarity, and enable you to see your true worth. The way you were treated had nothing to do with you, and this healing path will become your hero’s journey.

What a Great Help!

The most helpful tools I’ve encountered have come from this author. Her online support group and Facebook page helped me realize that I’m not nuts!

Fortunately for me, my confidence was never lost but it did fade during a period and she reminded me to rise and shine once again.

Being in a toxic relationship where crazy-making behaviors are de riguer, feel comforted knowing it’s NOT you….it’s the other person.

Great read—better have a pen and notebook handy.

So so good

Narration was super calming.. too calming for me. When I sped up the speed to 1.2 it was a lot easier for me to stay focused.

So many things in here have literally been said to me. I appreciate how the author shares her experience, provides a pdf and questions and discussion points to identify patterns and specific struggles that result from narcissistic abuse. I also am grateful for her breaking down how so many of us being abused and are being told we are the narcissist, are not - because of specific things that we do that the abuser doesn’t do.

I recommend this book! I should have sped it up from the beginning and it wouldn’t have felt so sleepy and hard to listen to - this author is very talented and very soothing. This is an important book on the healing journey and sifting out truth from the lies we are told and believe, and why we believe them from the narcissist. This book is part of my journey to finding myself again.

Wow!

Thank you Debbie for such a beautifully written and narrated book. I just finished listening to it on Audible. Everything you described in the book is what I have experienced, after being raised by two emotionally immature parents whom I believe have strong traits of NPD, especially my mother. As a result, I have suffered low self-esteem, been easily bullied, and have attracted narcissistic partners into my life, all the while thinking there was something wrong with me. Someone once told me what was “wrong” with me was that I was “too nice,” always people pleasing and allowing others to control my feelings. This is exactly what you described. What I liked most about your book is that you offer great suggestions about how to heal. I have already started using them and noticed a difference right away. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your experiences and giving me and others like me the hope and guidance we have desperately needed.

Thank you, Debbie.

Thank you for writing this book for those who are taking the time to heal from all the narcissistic abuse we knowingly or unknowingly endured. The letter at the end of the book almost made me cry. Thank you for understanding and sharing all that you did in this book. The Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissist was the first book I read and it helped me a lot, along with therapy. I started reading this book shortly after finishing the other book. It didn’t feel like I was ready for this book so I stopped reading. It’s been three weeks since I left my narcissistic partner and I decided to finish this book. Perfect timing. Great book. Thank you, Debbie.

a MUST buy!

You will NOT regret purchasing and listening to anything Debbie Mirza writes. This is the second book I've purchased that she's written, and it was just as wonderful as the first. It has given me sooooo many valuable tips for healing myself and moving on after being in a narcissistic relationship. It has provided me with insight as to how and why I got myself into the relationship, what happened during it, and stages I'll go through after breaking out of it. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this book is. She gives advice on how to deal with toxic people in your life and how to recognize that they might be. Buy this and listen to it as soon as you can. You won't regret it!

the positive affirmations were nice.

I think I'm more research and science based and I would have appreciated more backing to some of the points but that's just my preference.
