  • The Sacred Dance of Plant Medicine and Meditation | David Crow L.Ac.
    Sep 17 2025

The profound intersection of plant medicine and meditation offers a pathway to healing that goes far beyond symptom relief. David Crow, a pioneering clinical herbalist and acupuncturist, shares his extraordinary 40-year journey studying with Tibetan doctors in the Himalayas, nine different Ayurvedic practitioners, and various healing traditions that recognize the inseparability of medicine and spirituality.

At the heart of this conversation lies a revolutionary insight: the way we take herbs matters as much as which herbs we take. When we approach plant medicine with mindful awareness, paying close attention to the sensations they create in our bodies, we dramatically amplify their healing effects. "Where the mind flows, the qi flows," David explains, describing how focused attention directs healing energy precisely where we need it. This practice creates a beautiful synergy - herbs support meditation, and meditation potentiates herbs.

David challenges our modern supplement culture with its "more is better" mentality. Instead, he advocates for "more mindfulness, not more herbs," revealing how microdosing with complete presence produces more powerful effects than handfuls of supplements taken mindlessly. This approach makes profound healing accessible to everyone - you don't need exotic substances or expensive formulations, just sincere attention to whatever herb you're already taking.

The conversation also explores the traditional context of plant medicines, especially powerful entheogens like ayahuasca. David discusses the importance of proper containers - the land, culture, ceremony, and tradition that safely hold these experiences - and how their absence in modern settings can lead to psychological harm rather than healing.

Whether you're new to herbal medicine or a seasoned practitioner, this episode invites you to slow down and experience the union of plant consciousness with human awareness. In this mindful exchange, we reconnect with the original purpose of healing traditions: not just relief from symptoms, but support for our journey toward greater awareness, integration, and ultimately, spiritual transformation. Discover how a simple cup of tea, approached with reverence, can become a doorway to profound healing and connection.

  • Mental Fitness: The New Performance Enhancer | Aaron Machbitz
    Sep 3 2025

What if we approached our mental health with the same intentionality as our physical fitness? Aaron Machbitz, Emotional Projector & host of the "Something for Everybody" podcast, joins us for a profound conversation about transforming our approach to emotional wellbeing and relationships.

Aaron shares his powerful journey through grief after losing his sister to suicide, which catalyzed his passion for mental health advocacy. He draws an important distinction between mental health and mental fitness—reframing emotional wellbeing as something we actively cultivate rather than merely maintain. "Let's make mental health sexy again," Aaron suggests, advocating for daily "emotional pushups" that build resilience before we face life's inevitable challenges.

The conversation delves into practical habit-building strategies that anyone can implement. Aaron recommends making habits "too small to fail" by starting with minimal commitments that gradually expand over time. His "start, stop, continue" method offers a balanced approach to personal growth: identify one behavior to eliminate, one to begin, and one to celebrate continuing. This framework acknowledges both our areas for improvement and our current successes.

Perhaps most compelling is Aaron's candid sharing about his relationship journey. After years of casual dating, he made a radical decision to become celibate until finding someone he wanted to marry. This intentional period of self-development created space for genuine connection when he met his now-wife.

Whether you're working on personal growth, building resilience, or strengthening relationships, this episode offers valuable insights for your journey. As Aaron powerfully reminds us: "The world needs all your faults and mistakes and everything you have to offer, because there'll never be another you."

  • From Inner Mission to Outer Expression: Image Alchemy with Paul Fishman
    Aug 27 2025

Paul Fishman isn't your typical stylist. As an "image alchemist" & 2/4 Sacral MG, he's revolutionizing the relationship between personal style and self-expression through a holistic approach that begins from within. In this conversation, Paul reveals the three pillars of his Image Alchemy practice—style, systems, and strategy—that help entrepreneurs & public-facing individuals align their inner mission with their external presentation.

What makes Paul's approach unique is his integration of Human Design principles into the styling process. He explains how understanding your authority type influences decision-making around purchases and how different energy types approach their wardrobes differently. For manifesting generators who thrive on change, flexibility might be key, while generators might find joy in signature pieces that consistently bring satisfaction.

The conversation reaches its most transformative point when Paul introduces the concept of being "the solution" for your clients. By asking yourself how that solution shows up and speaks, you shift focus from personal identity to the value you provide.

  • Reflections on 31 | Birthday Solo Pod
    Aug 6 2025

Turning 31 marks a profound homecoming to myself that I never expected. Last August, I recorded my 30th birthday episode while processing grief over unrealized expectations. Now, just one year later, everything has shifted internally, though outwardly my life might look similar.

What remains beautifully constant are my people—the friends and family who have been my true home when physical spaces felt unstable. They've shown me what unconditional love looks like, celebrating me in my highest moments and supporting me through my darkest times. Their acceptance has taught me to accept myself. As I've grown more comfortable in my own skin, I've stopped collecting opinions from people who don't matter and stopped shape-shifting for rooms that were too small anyway.

My birthday wish for you is simple yet profound: may you find people who love you so deeply that it teaches you to love yourself just as powerfully. And if you're currently feeling untethered, remember that not everything lasts forever. You'll find your way home too. The beauty of this journey is watching everything shift, including ourselves, until one day we realize we're exactly where we need to be.

  • Skincare Science: The Truth About Inflammaging | Dr. Ebru Karpuzoglu | Aveseena
    Jul 23 2025

Dr. Ebru, an immunologist and molecular medicine expert & 4/6 emotional generator, takes us on a fascinating journey through the science of skincare, challenging beauty industry myths while sharing evidence-based approaches to healthy skin.

Fed up with ineffective, overpriced products that damaged her own skin during her PhD studies, Dr. Ebru combined her immunology expertise with cosmetic science to create Aveseena skincare. Her research on estrogen's impact on the immune system provides unique insights into how hormones affect skin throughout our lives - from teenage acne to pregnancy changes to menopausal challenges.

One of the most enlightening aspects of our conversation involves distinguishing between different types of inflammation. While the beauty industry broadly demonizes all inflammation, Dr. Ebru explains that acute inflammation is actually essential for our survival, while chronic inflammation and the subtle "inflammaging" are what truly damage skin over time. This nuanced understanding transforms how we approach skincare problems.

Ready to transform your skincare approach with science-backed solutions? Explore products that work with your body's natural processes rather than against them, and discover why sometimes the simplest routines deliver the most remarkable results.

  • Healing | Childhood Trauma & Reconnecting with Self | Julian Bermudez
    Jul 16 2025

The wisdom to heal is already inside you—but what happens when trauma disconnects you from that wisdom? That's the powerful question at the heart of my conversation with Julian Bermudez, owner of a Psychedelic Integration Trauma Therapy practice in Portland, OR.

Julian shares his journey from a painful childhood—bouncing between parents who saw him as a burden—to becoming a therapist who mirrors others so they can truly see themselves. This mirroring, he explains, is the essence of therapy: helping people reconnect with parts of themselves they've disconnected from as a survival strategy.

We explore how humans have two fundamental needs: attachment & authenticity. When expressing our authentic emotions threatens our attachments—as happens in many families—we learn to suppress parts of ourselves, creating disconnection that follows us into adulthood. This plays out as achievement-seeking, people-pleasing, addiction, or the pursuit of power and status—all attempts to fill the void of unworthiness planted in childhood.

Julian challenges modern parenting approaches like "cry it out" methods, explaining how babies physically download regulation from mature nervous systems through touch and connection. The societal shift away from this natural process has created generations of disconnection, with over half of children now medicated for emotional experiences that are actually natural responses to unmet attachment needs.

What makes Julian's approach transformative is his belief that therapy isn't about fixing something broken—it's about reconnecting with the wholeness already within us. Through plant medicine and psychedelic integration, he helps people identify patterns originating in childhood wounds, develop awareness of triggers, and cultivate the agency to respond differently to life's challenges.

The next time you feel "triggered" by someone, remember Julian's powerful metaphor: a trigger is just a small mechanism that sets off a reaction. The question isn't who pulled the trigger, but who's carrying the explosive ammunition within? By turning toward our pain rather than projecting it outward, we can break cycles of trauma that have persisted for generations.

  • Are You Feeding Your Body or Just Filling It? | Stefanie Adler
    Jul 9 2025

Have you ever wondered why your body seems to fight against your best intentions, especially when it comes to food cravings and health goals? The answer might be more fascinating than you think.

Functional health practitioner Stefanie Adler (5/2 Splenic Projector) takes us on an eye-opening journey through the misunderstood world of nutrition, challenging everything we've been taught about healthy eating. From her own transformation healing childhood IBS through diet changes when medications failed, to her current work helping women reclaim their hormone health and fertility, Stefanie offers a refreshing perspective grounded in both ancestral wisdom and modern functional medicine.

"Salt is like the kid on the playground who somehow got a bad reputation, but it's actually a really good kid," Stefanie explains, shattering the myth that all salt is harmful. This conversation delves into why high-quality, mineral-rich salt is essential for proper bodily function, while revealing how commercial table salts have been stripped of their beneficial properties.

Perhaps most surprising is the revelation about gut bacteria's profound influence on our behavior and cravings. "If you've ever wanted to quit sugar but felt it was absolutely impossible, it might not be about your willpower," Stefanie shares. "It's probably about the bacteria in your gut literally sending signals to your brain saying 'eat the sugar' until you cave." This gut-brain connection extends to mental health, with emerging research suggesting conditions from anxiety to schizophrenia may have roots in gut imbalances.

The discussion on fertility brings particular clarity to couples struggling to conceive, connecting modern environmental toxins and nutrient deficiencies to reproductive challenges. Rather than overwhelming listeners, Stefanie offers practical, manageable steps toward better health, emphasizing that even small changes can yield significant benefits.

Ready to transform your relationship with food and reclaim your body's innate wisdom? This episode will empower you to become "the sovereign of your body" and make informed choices that support true cellular health.
