Nobody is Immune- The Diseased Healthcare Industry
Nobody is Immune to The Diseased Healthcare Industry. I’ve been in the industry as a medical professional for over 30 years. I’ve worked in several different areas of Healthcare. There is an untold truth that most everyone functions under. The priority of the Healthcare industry, in particular Hospitals, Drug Manufacturers, Physician’s Offices, and Healthcare Agencies, is not to provide optimum care for the patient ( the consumer ), but to generate profits, and income for the Healthcare workers. This in itself is not a bad thing if Healthcare is provided efficiently, effectively, and in partnership with the patient. The problem is that our Healthcare model is implemented by those with self-serving objectives, of the least is the well-being of their patients. There are so many wonderful people providing exceptional care to our patients. Unfortunately, these are not the people who are implementing the policies and distribution of Healthcare. In a Capitalistic Society, Healthcare is balanced by those seeking power and profitability vs. those providing effective care and healing. The former is tipping the scales and “ “Butchered” by Healthcare”, by Robert Yoho, opens our eyes to this imbalance. Always be your best advocate. Always ask yourself, “ What is the motivation behind the advice I am being given. “ Always play a very active role in your family’s Healthcare, especially their hospitalization. Never trust a Physician just because they are a Physician. Always remember an Administrator’s motivation is most always tied to profitability. Be thankful to those actually providing the Healthcare to you and your loved ones.
