Nicole’s extensive background includes transitioning from a career in computer science to health and wellness, to her current role as the Director of Health and Well-being at Linbrook School. About Nicole Cairns: Nicole has always had a thirst for knowledge related to health. Although more of a hobby as a young athlete, with a change in career in her 30s it became a primary focus. With the birth of her children, Nicole decided to divert from her expertise in computer science, which she had applied as both a software designer and then later the head of technology at a high school, to dive into the health arena. Nicole, with a two-year-old in one hand and an infant in the other, went back to school to earn her Registered Holistic Nutrition designation while starting Thorpe Benefit’s Health and Wellness Inc, the health and wellness consulting division of Thorpe Benefits, an employee benefits consulting company. It is here where she entered the world of Corporate Health and Wellness. In the subsequent 10 years, she went on to become certified in Applied Positive Psychology, Positive Education, and Mental Health Leadership from Queens University and designed and delivering corporate wellness programs across over 10 facets of health including communication, resilience, financial wellbeing, fitness, nutrition, psychological safety and more to 100s of organizations.
