    In this episode Alan and I had the absolute privilege of welcoming not one but two American speed specialists to the podcast, in Jared Goldberg and Jacqueline Wiles. And what a privilege it was. They both told us their positive feelings about their respective seasons in which both Jared and Jackie qualified for the FIS WC finals in Saalbach. Jackie also returned to the WC podium in Cortina from Bib 26 in January. You may also notice that Jared and Jackie have both had some incredible results in Italy. Jackie scored 2 of her 3 World Cup podiums in Cortina and Jared scored 4 of his 6 World Cup top tens in Val Gardena. Coming into a World Championship year, the 2 Americans emphasised their hopes of consistency throughout next season which will hopefully result in a positive result in those World Championships.     In this episode, Alan and Matt had the privilege to chat with the British slalom superstar, Laurie Taylor.

    With Laurie we spoke about a plethora of things, for example the fantastic season he has just enjoyed, twice breaking his FIS WC personal best including his 1st World Cup top ten in Aspen in March.

    Laurie also told us his positive thoughts about the British ski team moving forward and making those top ten results a more consistent occasion. Similarly, he shared with us the sort of things he is doing with Dave and Billy over pre-season to continue the record-breaking results.

    With Dave's arrival to the HEAD team Laurie told us about the preparations which have now begun in Belgium and if we can get used to Dave in white equipment rather than his traditional yellow.

    In this episode, Alan and I had the great pleasure to welcome Daron Rahlves to Skiing is Believing. He shared with us some fantastic experiences from when Daron was crowned world Super-G champion in St. Anton in 2001 to the importance of confidence in sport. Daron told us his personal importance of confidence and how that self-belief allowed the results to become better and better at certain times of his career. Daron also told us a fascinating story about someone he worked with he told him he couldn't be a downhiller yet to this day, Daron Rahlves is America's most successful male Downhill ski racer with 20 podiums and 9 victories. Daron also shared with us the importance of confidence in ski racing which he, at times in his career, was able to carry from race to race. He also told us about the importance of mental imagery and how this helped him nail some of the hardest tracks in the world. Please let us know what you think.
