    How vitamins & minerals deficiencies affect our health Yes, vitamin and mineral deficiencies can have a significant impact on our health. Vitamins and minerals are essential nutrients that our body needs in small amounts to function properly. When we lack certain vitamins or minerals, it can lead to deficiencies, which can have adverse effects on our health. For example: 1. Vitamin deficiencies: Lack of vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin B12, or vitamin A can result in specific health problems. For instance, vitamin C deficiency can lead to scurvy, which causes fatigue, swollen gums, and weak immunity. Vitamin D deficiency can cause bone-related issues like rickets in children and osteoporosis in adults. 2. Mineral deficiencies: Minerals like iron, calcium, zinc, and magnesium are vital for various bodily functions. Insufficient intake of these minerals can lead to health issues. For example, iron deficiency can cause anemia, resulting in fatigue, weakness, and impaired cognitive function. Calcium deficiency can lead to weak bones and increased risk of fractures.
