Story
In late November 1942, Soviet forces surrounded Paulus' Sixth Army in a pocket outside the Russian city of Stalingrad. In response the Germans planned a relief operation, Operation Winter Storm, intended to break through the Soviet forces and open the pocket, releasing the encircled units. The 6th Panzer Division was the spearhead of the German relief force. The attack started on December 12th, 1942 and was aborted on December 23rd after heavy Soviet counterattacks. This failure sealed the fate of the German 6th Army in Stalingrad.

Story
After a messy breakup that left her with no home and no friends, the prospect of taking some time far away to regroup seemed appealing. That was until she saw exactly what awaited her in Moss Creek, Montana. Nothing. Nothing awaited her. The place is just fields and pastures. And cowboys. Lots and lots of cowboys. Which would be great if she was looking for a cowboy. And she’s not.

But now Rogue’s Hollow residents are up in arms over a contentious vote on legalizing the sale of marijuana within city limits. And when an 18-year-old is found dead of a possible overdose, Tess wonders if the local pot farms might be involved and begins to fear that a new, deadlier drug supply chain has cropped up. Story
Spending the night with Troy seemed like a great idea at the time. He was charming and handsome and clearly up on his anatomy lessons. Sending him on his way the next morning was harder than it should have been. But it was still easier than finding him shoveling her Grandma Muriel’s front sidewalk, putting a heart-stopping face to the mystery man who’d been helping her grandmother out. Now she has to pretend like he hasn’t seen and touched every inch of her skin. That she doesn’t desperately want him to do it all over again.

It is not a massive treatise on everything you should know as a CFO. But the book contains shortcuts a CFO can use to earn credibility and trust. This will help create change within the organization. One of the biggest challenges for a new CFO is often there’s not a job description. It’s usually something vague like “make the CEO look good and help the company succeed”. How do you do that exactly? This book is unlike any other of its kind. We’ve cut to the chase and shared with the CFO what they need to do and how to do it.

“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.

There has been much debate over how we got here, and what to do next, and bestselling author and social psychologist Jonathan Haidt is at the white-hot center of that discourse. Haidt has spent his career speaking wisdom and truth into the most difficult landscapes—communities polarized by politics and religion, campuses battling culture wars, and now the perfect storm contributing to a public health emergency for Gen Z.
