Publisher's summary

“Fascinating and powerful.” (Barbara Bialowas, co-director of the 365 Days trilogy, the Netflix romance sensation)

The USA Today international best seller Enthrall from romance author Vanessa Fewings.

Mia Lauren is a single 21-year-old working in a West Hollywood art store who dreams of one day becoming a fashion designer. When an unexpected offer arises to work at Enthrall, LA's premier fetish club for the wealthy, Mia accepts. It's a salary beyond her wildest imagination.

Mia becomes the secretary to the club's assistant director, blond and broody Richard Booth. Richard is not only one of LA's most beautiful and wealthiest men, he is also the club's senior dominant. Mia is both drawn and terrified when he reveals flashes of his white-hot passion, threatening an unbound pleasure like no other.

She knows her attraction may be her undoing, but the spellbinding feelings render her powerless to resist his advances. What Mia cannot know is that Enthrall's dashing director, 34-year-old Cameron Cole, who is also the club's psychiatrist, has lured Mia to save his best friend and patient Richard from his obsession with thrill seeking.

Cameron masterfully sets up sexy scenarios to ensure the collision of Richard and Mia, hoping that love will save him. However, despite Cameron's noble intentions, he also finds himself enticed by Mia's haunting innocence.

Passion and pleasure stir, forming a dangerous love triangle.

This is the world of the forbidden. This is the embrace of Enthrall.

Bad Narration

The overall storyline is descent, but the narration was distracting. The whole book (including the rest of the series) is read by a woman. While most female narrators at least make distinct voices (for better or worse) between characters, this narrator did not make any effort to change the inflection or tone at all. This made it difficult to keep the dialogue straight at times. For example, the character Richard is supposed to be a “tortured” character, but the way she reads him sounds like a Disney princess. If you can get past the narration, the overall story is intriguing. I am going to give book two a try since all books are in the audible escape package.

Beautiful and “SPOILER ALERT”

I can never understand why people read about what a story is suppose to be about. Then when it’s in this genre is exactly what it says it’s going to be and sometimes even has a warning if these themes bother you don’t buy this book. They get on the reviews and proceed to rip the story apart.
First of all this is a fantasy story. It is FICTION. However yes, club or no club there is a bdsm lifestyle. If you’re going to go around saying that it’s abuse without trying to understand how IT IS NOT THAT AT ALL. Then perhaps these types of stories are not for you and you shouldn’t leave reviews.

The narrator should probably work on changing voices a little better. It was hard tho figure out who was talking in a few places. Other wise nice clear understandable voice. Which is very important too.

I would like to point out that while Cameron did manipulate the situation to get Mia in the building so to speak. Mia herself initiated the relationship with Richard after her first contact.

I love how the relationships developed and how bdsm help Richard rather than him doing it because he was mentally ill. I think Mia agreed with her eyes open. Finding her home and her guys . There is a beautiful love story wrapped in a sexual adventure wrapped in yet another layer of story, Mia’s other relationships and finding out that her father is alive. He’s also being a jerk.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!

Eh

I liked the story at the beginning and learning about the characters, but by the end I was rolling my eyes. I just didn't see the chemistry that she was trying to portray to show how fast they fall for each other. Conflicts were resolved and decisions made so fast that it seemed like the author was rushing the story.I am going to listen to the next book in hopes it gets better.

I enjoyed this book. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be which is always a pleasant surprise. The beginning started out a little ehh for me because she is a 21 year old virgin working in a BDSM Club... a little to hokey for me but once the story took off I was "enthralled". The characters are all very unique and completely different from each other. Richard has a damaged heart, he is a Dom with a "I'm not good enough for you" attitude. Mia is a innocent girl being thrown into a world she really doesn't understand but she is very interested in none the less. Then there is Cameron, Richard's best friend, a sexy Dom & the Club's psychiatrist and he seems to be doing everything he can to push Richard & Mia together. I really can't wait to see where this story is going and will be jumping right into book 2.

The narration was a hard one for me because I love her voice but there are times when the way she says things it makes Mia seem like a complete brat with no brains, which is not the case. It's just the inflection the narrator used. It wasn't a huge thing and I was able get the correct impression from the authors writing. I really enjoyed her narration otherwise.

Good

I’m not sure if it was the narrator or just the full on damsel in distress, but the naïveté of Mia Lauren was a tad annoying. While the story line is good, having the main character be so soft was a bit of a turn off.

Awful narration

She rushed through it like she just wanted to get it over with. Used the same voice for all characters. The story was good - wish I’d read it in print just to avoid the ear-torment.

Wanted to love it.

the narration was crazy. this lady legit just didn't change voices. i was so distracted by the peppy narration in scenes that were supposed to be intense or contentious or pivotal to the plot. the story was fine but it definitely wasn't compelling enough to overcome this narrator.

Not impressed

The only thing I cared for less than the writing was the narration. The story was uneven, and far-fetched. Not that a lot of these types of books aren’t a bit far-fetched, but I’m not sure how any true “Dom” is so indecisive. That wouldn’t inspire much trust in a submissive. The way the narrator read the story, it was hard to tell who was talking at times. Needless to say, I wasn’t a fan of this book.
