Publisher's summary

He'd never wanted anyone enough to chase them...until he met her.

Charming, easygoing, and rich beyond belief, Xavier Castillo has the world at his fingertips.

He also has no interest in taking over his family’s empire (much to his father’s chagrin), but that hasn’t stopped women from throwing themselves at him…unless the woman in question is his publicist.

Nothing brings him more joy than riling her up, but when a tragedy forces them closer than ever, he must grapple with the uncertainty of his future—and the realization that the only person immune to his charms is the only one he truly wants.

***

Cool, intelligent, and ambitious, Sloane Kensington is a high-powered publicist who’s used to dealing with difficult clients.

However, none infuriate—or tempt—her more than a certain billionaire heir, with his stupid dimples and laid-back attitude.

She may be forced to work with him, but she’ll never fall for him…no matter how fast he makes her heart beat or how thoughtful he is beneath his party persona.

He’s her client, and that’s all he’ll ever be. Right?

King of Sloth is a steamy forced proximity romance. It's book four in the Kings of Sin series but can be listened to as a standalone.

Fantastic Characters

Performance: Stellar reading! Gotta love a well done duet! Voices were varied enough from character to character that you knew who was speaking. The extras like laughter or sighs, and the tone was really well done! I'll be checking out both these voice actors' other work.

I love this series, but this was not my favorite book so far. I really liked Xavier, and I loved little details about Sloane like her movie reviews and naming her pet fish "The Fish." Their romance was cute, and you gotta love a guy who falls first. Unfortunately the stakes on this one were a little over the top. On the one hand, I can get behind a story about a couple finding common ground because they are both estranged from their wealthy and judgemental families. I can also root for them dealing with deep seeded past trauma. That creates tension/conflict, and also brings them together. But the ridiculous inheritance deadline, on top of an even more ridiculous (and self imposed) compatibility deadline added fluff that just wasn't needed to make it interesting. I would have preferred to watch them simply help each other heal and grow. The rest made it feel forced and convoluted. I was also a little disappointed with the spice. These two talk about the heat between them the whole book, but their romps are tame compared to the previous stories.

All in all, I really loved the characters, but found the plot a little lacking.

Oh. My. Gosh. I loved it! It was perfect.

Oh. My. Gosh. I loved it. It was perfect. The story. The narration. All of it.

Sloane Kensington, the Ice Queen and top publicist. She ambitious and she's very good at what she does. Sloane is estranged from her family after her fiancé and her older sister have an affair and then get married. Sloane isn't willing to let it slide and her...jerk...of a father told her if she can't keep the family image then she is out of the family.

Xavier Castillo, the lazy son of a billionaire. He likes to party and relax and have zero responsibilities. His mother died in a fire and his father wishes it was him, no he really said that! Xavier is just cruising through life keeping Sloane on her toes and earning her paycheck.

These two!!!! It all starts with a deal, Xavier will go to his father's honor ceremony in exchange for one week uninterrupted vacation with Sloane. Sloane has a date to make so she caves. You know where this goes but the journey to the HEA was an adventure! The ups and downs and the tears and the laughter, this book seriously has it all. Gregory and Elena NAILED the narration, it's a duet so that's even more engaging and entertaining. These two brought Sloane and Xavier to life and I can't think of a duo who could have come close to what these two have done.

All of this and I haven't even mentioned the cameos of our past loves! Getting glimpses of them, having them be involved in the story, it was perfection! Ana just does it for me every single time and all my reading love is thanks to one tiktok video! As much time of mine as that app wastes I'll never regret it for finding this author.

Ohhh and what's up with Vuk and Ayana!?!? How does this woman have VUK tied up?! THAT is going to be something to read. I'm just going to very impatiently waiting for that! Of course first we get The Striker and I STG Asher Donovan!!!! *insert ALL the heart eyes here*

Okay seriously GO READ THIS BOOK! I'm not kidding. Just cancel your today. Whatever you had planned won't be as good as this book.

ADORED THIS

* hate to love
* billionaire romance
* golden retriever MMC and grumpy/tough exterior FMC
* cutest sibling
* lots of family drama

There is so much to love about this story! I love Xavier, a party animal turned business owner who sets out to prove he can accomplish something big and who falls HARD for our girl, Sloane. Sloane is an "ice queen" who runs a massive PR firm and is tough as nails (and Xavier is one of her clients)! I loved watching Xavier break down Sloane's walls and also loved seeing her little quirks and fun hobbies (like filling notebooks of romcom reviews LOL). Her love for her baby sister was the best and their moments were some of my favorites (the rest of her family... I have * choice words * for them that I will not spell out 😂). Their chemistry was great and I quickly got on board with their relationship and just how GOOD they were for each other!

Thank you to the author for an ALC of this audiobook - all opinions are my own!

Hot chemistry, and heartfelt dynamics!

This audiobook is about Xavier Castillo, a wealthy playboy, and Sloane Kensington, his no-nonsense publicist. Despite Xavier's lack of interest in his family's business, he is deeply attracted to Sloane, the only woman impervious to his charms. Unexpected events bring them closer, and their professional boundaries blur, leading to an intense and steamy romance. The story portrays their journey from enemies to lovers, packed with emotional depth and genuine character growth. Huang tells the story captivatingly, making this an outstanding romance novel that explores the balance between personal desires and professional duties. The audiobook narrators Gregory Salinas and Elena Wolfe add to the experience with their dynamic and engaging performances, perfectly capturing the characters' emotions and the sizzling tension between them. I highly recommend this audiobook for its captivating storytelling, hot chemistry, and heartfelt dynamics!

Absolutely fantastic!

This book is everything! Let me tell you, Gregory Salinas was pure perfection for Xavier 🥵 Absolutely loved the opposites attract, publicist/client plot of this book! Made for such a slow burn, full of flirty banter.

"In a world of black and white, she was my kaleidoscope." *swoon*

Love the character arc

Xavier and Sloane were so hot together. He comes from money, but missing direction and dealing with family trauma that makes it hard for him to find focus in life. What he does focus on is Sloane. I’d like to think they recognize some loneliness in each other and looking for that one person who would support them and love them unconditionally. I like Sloane’s no nonsense personality, her dedication to work, but especially her love and care for her younger sister. You can see family really matters to both Sloane and Xavier, though they’ve suffered from family issues as well. I enjoyed this one.

The audio with Gregory Salinas and Elena Wolfe was awesome! They brought the character to life with such verve and passion, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them!

Sizzling Romance

Xavier and Sloane... where do I even begin with these two? 😍

Billionaire playboy Xavier finds himself in a clash of wills with his uptight publicist, Sloane. But when forced proximity throws them together, sparks fly in a steamy romance neither saw coming.
Xavier is an absolute dream—swoon—while Sloane, aka "The Ice Queen," lives up to her reputation. Watching Xavier work hard to break down Sloane's walls was utterly captivating.

The narrators, Gregory Salinas and Elena Wolfe, did an excellent job bringing Sloane and Xavier to life. And can we talk about Sloane's scathing reviews of romcom movies? Hilarious!

This book delivers on all fronts—a sizzling romance, witty banter, and characters you can't help but root for.
