So useful. So honest and transparent.

I listened to this with a young woman I mentor who had been deeply wounded by a close friend. It’s been an incredible book for her.

I also learned a lot about myself, about ways I’m still struggling with forgiveness that I relabeled as something else or thought I had forgiven.

The big takeaway for me is that forgiveness is a process. I can forgive the act but still have an on-going journey of forgiveness for the consequences that came from that behavior.

This book also reinforced for me that hurting people hurt other people. Having compassion for that person’s own wounding is a part of the forgiveness process. Understanding that has made forgiveness easier.
Watching a woman I’ve struggled to forgive, who has said hurtful things to me and has gossiped about me has allowed me to see she has terrible social skills and is perpetually anxious. I can forgive her because she’s clearly suffering more than me.

All in all, a good book that I’ll return to the clips I made to review those truths.

Fresh new insights on biblical forgiveness

Lysa breaks down forgiveness into faith bites we can take one at a time when we don’t know where to begin and also when we have lived with hurt and disappointment for years. The chapter on bitterness is the most profound thing I have heard in awhile and merits a listen if only for that one chapter. This book is a stronghold breaking piece of writing!

Amazing book

It's an amazing book an I recommend it to anyone who is struggling with anything in life and is having alot of struggling with explaining what is going on inside the mind

This book was amazing from start to finish. It’s super relatable and provides more than service level advice on how to go through it to get past it.

Too much drama

While I sympathize with her story, it was difficult to listen to all the detail. I kept waiting for the “ah ha” nugget. I found only one good takeaway at the end. There are better books that helped me with my struggle.

I am probably halfway through my life and have just learned the correct way to forgive. Yes I grew up in a Christian home, yet it was very dysfunctional to say the least. I will listen to this audiobook again and again and will definitely recommend it to others. Lysa, thank you so much!

This book challenged me to forgive

This book was so good it challenged me to forgive. it challenged my thoughts about forgiveness. it helped me find a way to build a bridge to forgiveness for myself, for my ex husband and for all the people who have hurt me in my life

Amazingly honest!

So many of her examples hit home for me. I have been struggling with forgiveness for an issue that happened over the holidays and this book was timely for me. I would recommend this as a read for everyone.
