When you let go, you live intuitively. Everything flows, because you are no longer attached to things being a certain way, to being a certain person or always being right. What a relief. The irony is that when you feel stuck in any area of your life - career, relationships, purpose, health or money - letting go can seem very hard. You cling on for dear life just at the moment you need to take the leap. In The Power of Letting Go, John Purkiss explains why we should let go and how we can do it, using proven techniques to make things happen.

Tell a stranger that you talk to yourself, and you’re likely to get written off as eccentric. But the truth is that we all have a voice in our head. When we talk to ourselves, we often hope to tap into our inner coach but find our inner critic instead. When we’re facing a tough task, our inner coach can buoy us up: Focus - you can do this. But, just as often, our inner critic sinks us entirely: I’m going to fail. They’ll all laugh at me. What’s the use?

That if we aren’t perpetually exhausted, we’re not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the more effort it takes to make progress. Practicing medicine is traumatic: coping with the death of a patient, sharing a life-changing diagnosis, grieving futility in the face of a no-win situation. The emotional burden placed on doctors, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners is profound...and yet their suffering is often displaced, dismissed, or unrecognized. Here, Rachel Jones breaks the silence, daring to imagine a future where every healthcare worker is provided with the right tools to process grief, the space to integrate trauma, and--most importantly--the knowledge that they’re not alone.

Absolutely loved it!
I've been following Dr. Julie Smith on Facebook for well over a year, and find her information to be very timely and helpful. I was delighted to hear that she was writing a book, and it does not disappoint.
It's full of great information, fun to listen to and easy to understand. I like it so much that I bought the audiobook and Kindle version for myself, and plan to get the hard copy for my 14 year old daughter. Just wonderful - highly recommend!!

Delightful and insightful
Dr. Julie’s narration made this book especially delightful with her tone and emphasis. However, it’s a read for one and all that can be read and reread for full benefit. Very insightful.

Really insightful 👏
I was actually contemplating going to therapy but I don't believe I need to anymore, I'm very grateful to the tools presented.

Wow. Life changing is an understatement.
I love the author/narrator.
Her warm, kindhearted, compassionate way of teaching is absolutely perfect. It’s really crucial for this type of content, yet others that write on similar topics miss the mark. I’m so glad that she decided to narrate the book. I have listened to other audiobooks recently that may have contained some quality information, but the disconnect between the narrator and content was evident, which caused them to seemingly lack in authenticity. They had poor rhythm and flow of words and ultimately that led to Limited knowledge transfer and retention.
This experience was the opposite of that. In every single word, punctuation, personal story, etc. you can hear the empathy, caring, and kindness pouring from Julie.
I love love loved it. I’ve listened to the relationships chapter 3 times and will be listening more. I plan now to go back and look at the tools offered, wrote down strategies, and create a sustainable path forward, trying to utilize knowledge gained here to attain the life I want and need :)
