    Today I am chatting with my client Lori’s on her awesome transformation. Lori was referred to me by another client because her hip pain was so bad, she wasn’t able to hike or cycle which she used to do regularly. She worked out all the time, would push through pain because she thought that meant she needed to get stronger but would end up pooping naproxen to manage her pain. Fast forward to two months into doing my Lift for Longevity method, she has ZERO PAIN, can hike and cycle as much as she wants, and now says there is light at the end of the tune. Today I am sharing my 3 steps to correct muscle imbalances that I use with my clients. We start by assessing WHY we are having pain so we know what to fix. Just like when you get a new patient and do a comprehensive exam, we have to gather information. We can’t just guess, especially with your body!     Do you workout but still have pain? Is your goal to be strong and healthy? Well in order to achieve both of these, we have to make sure we are working out efficiently. We can’t just do the same program or the same exercises over and over. On the other hand, we can’t switch up and do different workouts every day or every week. Both of these are signs you're NOT working out efficiently. Don’t waste time and energy just going through motions, move with purpose and intention.     Do you feel like your ergonomics aren’t great? Or better yet have you invested in ergo loupes and a saddle stool but still have pain? Your “poor” ergo isn’t what you think it is. It’s really just muscle weakness. Just like brushing and flossing go hand in hand, so does strengthening and ergonomics! We need to correct our imbalances by building our weak muscles to have a balanced body. Then, as a result, your ergo will naturally improve and you won’t even have to think about it. While tracking macros is a tool that can help you achieve your goals, it’s not a long term solution. Tracking can be very tedious and time consuming and most people don’t track accurately. My goal as a coach is always to make a hygienist's life easier, not more difficult. So today I am sharing another way to manage your portions that is way easier and takes hardly any time at all.   • Ep 48 Why I Dislike Fitness Challenges (and What to do Instead)

    If you are into fitness, chances are you have done a fitness challenge before. While it may be fun or exciting, at the end of the day, fitness challenges are just another quick fix. Hygienists have enough quick fixes you don’t need any more! On top of that, if you have an all or nothing mentality, a challenge is going to make you go 0 to 100 which is not sustainable. As well as any results you get, they won’t last long either. This is not my fitness philosophy. My goal for all of my clients is to have a plan that is realistic, and sustainable LONG TERM.
