With the invading aliens temporarily driven from Human-and-NeHaw-occupied space, all the races are using the pause to recover and rebuild, both friend and foe alike. For the NeHaw, that means pressuring the Earth to allow them to rebuild and rearm their fleet from the Wawobash shipyards, a risk that could easily backfire.

For Jake, the lingering concerns of a lost crew with the un-activated Artificial Life installed in the captured saucer still dominate his thoughts. While he obsesses on that, others look to the origins of the mysterious alien invaders in the universe's unexplored regions.

General Jake Thomas must face the fact that he can't be the human recovery leader and an intergalactic explorer at the same time. Therefore, it is now left to others of his inner circle to take up the mantle and charge forth into the unknown while he holds down the fort at home.

In the end, it is a surprise to see who rises to the occasion and proof that the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

I have enjoyed all the Alice books so far. I'm used to the performers having to once in a while do a retake of a sentence or paragraph. Not a big deal, most times there are just subtle differences in voices. The Explorer story took this to a whole new level. Sounded like a new person. If I was to guess, my theory would be that the original performance was abridged and the missing "fluff" was added in to this recording. Different person? The Author? Like I said, not a big deal. I have and will continue to recommend to anyone asking.

Still a great series

Narration was somewhat better and the plot lines more interesting but everything is too easy and author still doesn’t have a firm grasp of military arts. Ok read but still not a first line author!

Better plot line than previous books

well I found the story to be as fantastic as every other book in the series I did find the narration to the less than optimal. I especially found the constant switching of voices to be unnerving and distracting and the high pitched female voice attempt was somewhat laughable. the first time I heard both I broke out laughing at the high-pitched female voice while confused at the sudden change in voice I didn't care for either and I found them to be a change that would rather have not had in the first place

narration needs work

As with the preceding books, book 6 was a good story with good narration. I will keep my eyes out for any additional books in this series.

Great continuation of a well written saga.

The man’s name is IVEN not Evon!!! Say his name right! It is very distracting to be listening to the book a have a character so important to the story misnamed throughout the story!
