In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Michael F. Roizen and Dr. Mehmet C. Oz bust the myths and stereotypes about the way we view ourselves -- and how we define beauty.

Most people think that beauty revolves around such things as lipstick, sweet eyes, or skinny jeans -- all those things that we can see (and obsess over) in the mirror. But the fact is that beauty isn't some superficial pursuit, and it's not some random act that you can thank (or curse) your ancestors for.

There are, in fact, scientific standards to beauty. Beauty is purposeful because it's how humans have historically communicated who we are to potential mates. Beauty, in fact, is really about your health and happiness.

In these pages, you'll find out why beauty isn't as much about your vanity as it is about your humanity. Dr. Roizen and Dr. Oz take a scientific, informative, and entertaining look at the three levels of beauty and explain how they all work together to form a complete and authentic YOU. With their usual candor and honesty, the doctors break down the mechanics of beauty and explain how little adjustments in your routine can help you become a happier, healthier person.©2008 Michael F. It told me things that I didn't know.

What did you like best about this story?

It was very factual, without being redunduant.

I was reading alongside with my Ereader.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't cry, but I should have. It is terrible what I'm doing to my body.

Would you listen to YOU again? Why?

yes....has lots of facts hard to take them all in on first listen

Any additional comments?

It was fine, I've listened to almost all of the You books. They are all a little cheesy but worth listening too...just wish Oz would electronically update my version and others with new medical facts....

If you like Dr. Oz you'll like it.

Boring! So much history. I did not finish the book. I was expecting good advice.

I don't recommend this book.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

When a man with a pronounced Elmer Fudd speech impediment tells me I should get a boob-job if I have small breasts in order to improve myself and "be beautiful", I'm walking away and not looking back.
That was the last straw, of MANY straws......

Would you ever listen to anything by Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz again?

No

Any additional comments?

Don't listen to them girls. Just be entirely, originally, yourself, as you are.
