Threadbare has been kidnapped by pirates!

But this is just the first step in the plan of the malevolent and mysterious puppeteer who's manipulated the pirates into bear-nappery. Which was supposed to be a proper princess kidnapping, but things went a bit sideways.

To uncover this strange mastermind's plan and properly thwart it, Threadbare must play along, keep his friends alive while they attempt to rescue him, make new friends, and help the old ones during this dangerous journey to parts unknown, all to confront the deadly and devious beastkin known only as the Phantom of the Lop Ear…

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Enjoyed this series muuuch more than any of the others ive listened to by this author. The plots engaging with well developed, lovable characters and tons of meta humor throughout. I found it pretty funny, depends on your sense of humor i guess but i felt he did great in that aspect of the book. In this one we follow threadbear posing as Celia and get to know his bunny captors a bit and find out more about this "lop ear" character. Theres a few characters that were reintroduced from the "blasphemy" series preparing for the inevitable combination of this cast and that one but i was a little disappointed he didnt lean into that side of the story more. The next book isnt long enough to fit all the explanations he left out of the ending of that series as well as wrapping up this one ( trust me i know, I've already finished it). I feel like he couldve spent more time doling out pieces of the puzzle so our beloved teddy could start putting them together into a semblance of a picture. There were some minor things in this book tying it together with blasphemy but i felt like there was entirely too little..

I really enjoyed the real issues raised in a light hearted way. The puns were exceptionally dad quality! I thought it may have been a teen or child’s book series at one point, it handles adult themes quite well.
