*Part one of a duet.

No good ever comes from a red-head in a stolen dress with her worldly possessions at her feet.

I should have known she was trouble when smoke and sin followed her into my bar and she challenged me to a game.

She may have won my watch, but she started a war.

As she slipped my Breitling off my wrist and onto her own, she gleefully announced she was the luckiest girl in the world.

Yeah, lucky to everyone but me.

Because the moment her muddy boots stomped down the stairs and up my spine, my empire started to crumble.

My cashmere charm is wrinkling.

My gentlemanly facade is cracking.

My enemies are closing in.

Maybe the fortune teller was right:

The Queen of Hearts will drag me down to hell.

At least it’s wonderfully warm among the flames.

Somme's notes:

Sinners Condemned is part one of a duet, and because of this, it ends on a cliffhanger. Rafe and Penny’s story continues in Sinners Consumed.

You should know that I write dark romance, and my stories–including this one–aren’t for the faint of heart. They contain several triggers, so aren’t suitable for everyone.

I love the voice acting on this book. I know there is a third book in this series that is a continuation of this so I’m not upset at all the plot holes, but overall it was good. I definitely recommend reading the first book before this one, you will be missing a lot of context if you don’t.

Great performance, but I felt there could be more romance

Great world building. Love the narration. The chemistry is there. It is a slow burn but I can tell these two are going to be soooo good when they finally catch fire.

Amazing All Around

I kept waiting for this to go deeper like book 1 but it didn’t happen. Hopefully they help us connect with the characters better in book 3!

Good but underwhelming

This is a re-read; or listen if you will, for me. There is just something about these characters and story that has me in a chokehold.

Rafe is absolutely delicious. Penny, oh Penny, is THE IT girl! I have such a crush on her. She’s everything I want and love in a female character.

The narrators added to this story ten-fold and captured the characters so well. Every character has their own voice and tone. This is the top of narrating that makes you appreciate audiobooks and the work and dedication that goes into the production.

This was so much fun! Their meet cute, their flirty banter, and their need to bet with one another turns into the best yearning slow burn I’ve read in a while. Stephen Dexter understood the assignment and I’ve never enjoyed an mmc saying an fmc’s name so much 🖤 Easy 5 stars, highly recommend, I already purchased book 3 with the audio before even finishing this one. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to read! (Duet narration)

A squealing, giggling good time!
