"Christopher Paolini is a true rarity."—The Washington Post

Oaths sworn . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide... Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king? Following the colossal battle against the Empire's warriors, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still, there is more adventure at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.

When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices—choices that will take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.

That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? Intriguing and thrilling

I loved it so much as the 2 first books. there were places that were a bit too slow, but at the same time I felt it somehow was needed in the story. everything can't be quick paced. I can't wait to read the next book Inheritance and then also Murtagh and find out about it all. I know I will deeply miss the characters when I've read them all. amazing story. highly recommend the Inheritance Cycle series to all.

Good story, not up to the standard of the others

I really thought this was supposed to be a trilogy, but now he is milking it for more.
The story is dragging on, and it is really hurting the story line, in my opinion.
The characters are all still very good, but when you drag a story out, it hurts the telling.

Another wonderful addition

I really enjoyed this installment of the Inheritance series. Christopher Paolini out did himself, he brought to life so many more of the characters in this chapter. I can't wait for the next book. Even the author interview at the end was worth listening to.
