A thrilling, captivating read, steeped in eerie, atmospheric language
This novel was absolutely fantastic. The kind of thriller I’ve been waiting for. It had all the sensibilities of a classic British crime drama, with the gloomy and mysterious atmosphere of the Scottish highlands, paired with elements of Nordic noir. But it was SO refreshing to read this genre with a Pakistani family at the forefront. I long for more thrillers with ethnically diverse lead characters.
I could have never have guessed the ending. Twists and turns galore in this one! Highly recommend if you’re a fan of classic mysteries and or gothic thrillers, but are also looking for something fresh and updated for current audiences. 5 stars!
