Publisher's summary

“Cops in the Wilderness” describes the chaotic abyss that American law enforcement now occupies. The population movement of the city dwellers to the countryside threatens to submerge rural police into the same precarious place that urban police now occupy. The Covid-19 Pandemic has highlighted the disastrous conditions of urban life which includes the rapid transmission of the disease in areas of high population density. The collateral damage has been the dramatic increase in violent crime and the introduction of civil demonstrations and riots to protest the response of city law enforcement to the lawlessness. In addition, the restrictions upon city entertainment and hospitality venues have inspired urbanites to live and work, in a remote fashion, from more sparsely populated areas in the countryside.
