Crossing the Plains

I did not connect with this story from the start.The narrator goes from monotone to speed accents and back and it is hard to keep listening.The story was interesting,but not really the 'end of the world' type of stuff I read. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Political thriller

This is not my usual genre to read, but I decided to give it a try. The story moved at a fast pace, often too fast. I found myself getting lost in the storyline a couple of times. I think it would have better if it had been fleshed out a bit more. It appeared that the author wanted to keep the story under a certain length, sacrificing clarity for brevity.

The narrator was a hit or miss for me also. His voices were great, but when he was reading the parts of the story without dialogue, he was very monotone and dry. Some of the accents were confusing, sounding more like Texan than Jordanian/Arabic. Also, there were a lot of mispronounced words throughout this short read.

All in all, not a bad way to spend a couple of hours. I would definitely read another book by author since this story held a lot of promise. I was given the chance to listen to the audiobook version of this book by the author/narrator/publisher and chose to review it.

Fun story, good narration

This was a good, quick listen with a fun, engaging story. The narrator has a strong, clear voice. I would listen to the sequel.

First time listener to J M Zale books

I was surprised by this book as I don’t usually listen to this type of book.
Well written and the narrative by Jeremy Munoz was great.
The story moved along quickly but didn’t lose anything.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. 😊

Confusing

The story itself, is good. Or rather, it seems to be a good beginning for a story. But it seems to end too soon. Then it appears to start over again. Not real sure what that is about...I can't tell if it is a production error or if it is intending to show that they never learned their lesson and so, repeats their own history. Like I said, a bit confusing. Maybe the author can provide more insight.
