Double GFY - amazing narration

Double GFY people! Yes! It sounds so fantastical, but it is SO WELL DONE! Riley Hart is an amazing writer and she absolutely manages to pull this off.

She spends a lot of time building the relationship (as friends) between the two guys and then showing us that with an open mind (and an open heart) the two can explore their feelings for one another physically as well as emotionally.

I loved the similar yet different reactions each man received from their families. Though Nick had only ever been with one person, his feelings for Bryce follow a similar pattern and it’s totally reasonable that his mother would think he’s jumping the gun again. It’s also fair that Bryce’s family would think his impetuosity is throwing him into another doomed to fail relationship.

But… both men are being true to their authentic selves. Just like the motorcycles, Bryce KNEW Nick was THE ONE. And just like his cooking Nick knows his own heart and has to trust it where it concerns Bryce.

The sex is OFF THE CHARTS hot! But … so is the love. These guys aren’t afraid to reach for one another emotionally and it’s so very sweet and tender.

I loved this book – gave myself a book hangover as I had to read it all in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down at 2 a.m.

I can’t recommend this enough!

Audio

Lord! The heat is SCORCHING. Sean Crisden does an absolutely perfect job with this narration! The feels, the smexy scenes, the humor… just perfect! I absolutely adored the book and the audio only makes it BETTER!

I cannot recommend this any more!

wonderful love story!!!

Any additional comments?

This is a delightful, low angst, easy, breezy romance between two incredibly likable men.
Nick and Bryce are straight. Not bisexual...not bi curious ...not repressed. Nope. At the start of the book these two men are completely and utterly heterosexual. They've each had relationships with women that clearly define their inherent sexuality, but for different, reasons the relationships have ended, leaving them free agents.
Bryce and Nick start a friendship that makes them both incredibly happy. Their comradery is instant and their similarities evident. Before either of them know it is happening, their friendship changes into one of sexual attraction. Of course, it is not all hearts and flowers for these boys. They are doing a lot better with navigating their new found sexuality than their families are. Bryce and Nick both love their families and want them to accept their new lives together. Of course, it isn't quite as easy as all that.

Sweet double GFY romance

Would you listen to Crossroads again? Why?

Perhaps, but while the story itself was good, I would prefer listening to something new. The story was pretty standard, but I liked the character development.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Crossroads?

I don't want to spoil the plot, so I will just say that the families reactions and how it played out was the most memorable.

Have you listened to any of Sean Crisden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first, but I'm currently listening to Test Drive from the same author. Crisden is one of my favorite narrators so far, it is easy to listen and follow the various characters and scenes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It did make me laugh and I was sucked in to the story and wanted to keep listening.

Not to be missed... Hot hot hot MM HEA

Riley Hart has taken two innocent straight men who find themselves drawn to each other in such a beautiful way. All new territory for both. This book is so beautifully written as their relationship progresses to a full-on relationship. Her writing is detailed enough to easily imagine the story progressing. I wouldn't change anything.

The intimate scenes are so hot! Even from a simple kiss scene to making out. Hot! hot! hot!

Sean Crisden, I heard him for the first time; He did an amazing job for both men and other characters in the book. A job well done.

This book is highly recommended. A must listen! Definitely a keeper in my library. Even worth listening to it again. Enjoy!

Loved the story, the parents, not so much

I really, really loved how the relationship between Nick and Bryce played out. Unexpected and rough around the edges but no less beautiful. They were pretty sexy too as they took their time getting to know each other in and out of the bedroom. Narration was stellar, of course, it's Sean Crisden!

What I did not enjoy were either one of the mothers. I wanted to climb into my Zune and slap the shit out of both of them. It's hard to say which was worse.... Nick's basically homophobic mother or Bryce's mother and father that responded to him telling them he was gay and in love with a man with... "will you ever take anything seriously?" Seriously?????

Still, overall I enjoyed the book and was thrilled that Nick and Bryce realized the only people they needed to please was each other.

Narration is awful

The story is solid, but the Bryce voice sounds like Dick Cavett. If you're hot for that, then fantastic. Otherwise, this really doesn't hit the way it should.

Loving a person

I love this story and how it was written. I love how the author has taken how people can fall in love with a person. I hate how people think they have to put a label on people.

Fast Paced

I love that it was quick but not so quick that two straight guys just jumped into sex. It was a sweet story.

Great GFY listen

This was a great double GFY listen. The story is basically the journey of Nick and Bryce who are neighbors and discover through their friendship they have feelings for each other. Since both have been straight all their life, this comes as a shock to themselves, their friends and family. Some family members are supportive and some have a harder time. There is a little angst, lots of family drama, but mostly about them coming to terms with the relationship and what it means. Overall a well written, realistic story with great, engaging characters. Sean Crisden puts in a great performance and really brings the characters to life.
