Story
Aliens ripped a hole above Earth, arriving with a massive space station. I sorta figured we'd be enslaved to fight in their wars or exterminated for our resources. Nope. The hip-high Iglax were merchants with ugly squished faces and thick blue fur. While they weren't much to look at, they sure did have some wonderous technology.

Story
Ex-Army paratrooper Griffin “Fin” Brooks thought he left danger behind when his battlefield injuries forced him to pursue a new career in marine biology. But one fateful night off the coast of South Africa, a ship nearly crashes into him and his loyal golden retriever, Jacques. Not just any ship. A starship. Though its alien pilot is dead, the rare extraterrestrial animal inside is not. Fin learns the creature is being smuggled across the galaxy when a pair of interstellar visitors respond to the crash. But those same investigators accuse Fin and his dog of crimes he didn’t even know existed.

I guess you could call my latest job interview a success. I got hired, and it's way beyond my wildest dreams. The pay isn't great. And the hours are pretty much 24/7. But there's magic. And a portal to a fantasy world. Those kind of outweigh the negatives. At first, I thought I was just testing the latest VR survival RPG, but I'm starting to think this might not be a game after all. The monsters are definitely life-like and capable of carving me apart on their worst days. But on their best days, I make them mine.

Growing up, she was the girl down the street. Even then, I knew she was different. She was tough, rough, and had the strength to stop a speeding car with her bare hands. We were as thick as thieves, sharing every adventure. Then one day she revealed a secret. She wasn't from Earth. She was from a distant place called the Arcadia Multiverse. Her people lived under the rule of a god-like entity known as the System. That System had its gaze fixed on Earth. And it was only a matter of time before it came for us.

Aliens exist...and, as it turns out, most of them aren’t that friendly. Jacob Brown wasn’t even born yet the first time they attacked Earth. He was only 14 the second time it happened. When Earth finally came together and fielded its first spaceborne military, Jacob didn’t hesitate to volunteer. Serving aboard a mighty starship, he’d be able to defend his planet - and his family - when, inevitably, they came again.

Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Chase had it all planned out. Do a little time in one of the emperor's jails, say a four-year stretch, for getting rid of some trash that no one would miss, and when he got out, the path to leadership would be wide open. Unfortunately, his bastard of a father, the same one who left his mother to die in poverty and him to run wild on the streets, took an interest. Seeing him sitting on the bench when his case went to court was a shock. But not as big a shock as being sentenced to ten years in the Imperial Navy.

Dirriken Friedel used his aristocratic connections to rescue his troops. He didn't plan on starting a war or killing them himself. Now he spends his days in jail, waiting for an assassin sent by his dead officers families to end his misery. When he's broken out by off-duty marines he has a chance to start over, if he's worthy. Publisher's summary
Advance. Upgrade. Grow. The alternative for humanity is to perish.
The Iglax Star Empire’s tried twice now to throttle this upstart species before they could expand beyond Sol. They once used humans for cheap mining, cheap labor, and cheap laughs. But with each attempt, humanity’s gotten stronger, spread across more star systems, and found new allies.
Now the Iglax are preparing for war.
Darius Rutledge is a hero, a husband, and the reluctant leader of his species. He knows that the core planets of the Navarre system are the key to victory. Each one’s a terraforming nightmare. But they’re shot through with enough gemstones to help humanity stand up to the Iglax.
It’s up to him to help turn the tide through colonization, terraforming, mining, and above all by creating a battle fleet — and its crew — from scratch. Along the way, he’ll be founding new industries, forging ties with friendly mercenary groups, and captaining his first battleship!
Through it all, Darius will stand tall to protect his allies and his friends, both old and new.

Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

When my girlfriend’s dad chased me out of her bedroom that Saturday evening, I never expected to end up transported to a world based on some sort of RPG System. But I guess that’s what happens when you're focused on avoiding the business end of a baseball bat and not paying attention to where you’re running. To make matters worse, I managed to get myself indentured to some sort of dungeon god. That’ll teach me to not read the fine print. The job had some great perks though: an epic class, magic powers, and a smoking hot succubus that couldn’t get enough of me.

My name is James Browning. Not long ago, I was a proud member of the 92nd Legion, the Star Ravagers. We were super-soldiers that defended humanity from aliens, heretics, and otherworldly threats. But a callous betrayal left my legion decimated, erased, and dishonored. I thought I was doomed to spend the rest of my life on a distant penal colony. But when I suddenly find myself stranded in an alien space station, surrounded by the wrecks of lost spaceships, I know I have a chance at escape.

Tala had to fight tooth and nail in the Magic Academy to forge a path to power that was her own. However, she skipped a few steps in her education, like apprenticing to someone who actually knows what they’re doing. Now, Tala has to balance learning as fast as she can with paying off the veritable mountain of debt the Magic Academy dropped on her shoulders for the opportunity; not to mention staying alive.

I woke and found myself in an ancient temple—naked, alone and without any memory of my past. Even the name my status screen displays—"Valerian Hawkblade"—is unfamiliar to me. It's a good name. A champion's name. Fate joins me with a pair of adventurers searching the long abandoned temple. Nikita, a human warrior, and her friend Kazumi, an elven mage, are seeking a magic weapon to defeat Baron Skeg. I pledge my aid in their quest for vengeance and together we begin a journey of leveling up, winning treasure, and upgrading our gear.

Awesome 4 book trilogy! 😉
This was definitely wanted and appreciated.
It really brought closure to the series and let us be with the characters one last time to let us know they are gonna be okay.
And that the bad guys got their comeuppance.
Thank you authors, narrators and publisher, etc.
I'm giving this book 8.5 out of 5 stars.
