The countdown to the end of the world has begun.

A mysterious convergence of natural disasters threatens to destroy life as we know it, and people across the United States are going missing. With no one left to investigate, Special Agent Kendra Baker takes the case, trying to solve the disappearances before she’s out of time.

Among those abducted is Valeria Miller, the daughter of ex-Marine Corporal Andrew Miller, and he’ll stop at nothing to find her.

With the help of an unstable conspiracy theorist, they find themselves on the trail of a reclusive billionaire who just might have all the answers.

As the natural catastrophes escalate and the evacuations commence, it becomes a race against the clock to find the abductees before it’s too late.

So So Story. Not bad enough to return, not good enough to continue

Pretty good character development. Rather abrupt ending. Some plot twists that didn’t spark my interest.

Thin on Story, Chubby on the Fluff

Post apocalyptic stories are my favorite. I was excited to read this book as a friend recommended highly. Unfortunately there was a lot to be desired in both character development and story.

Characters were stereotypical and I found my self fast forwarding through some of the overtly predictable plot devices. The plot was thin and transparent especially towards the end of the book.

All could be forgiven if there was a payoff but there wasn’t. In fact, this is the first in a series of books, which I believe to be one story broken into many parts. Perhaps this is the new model of selling stories, but I am going to be looking for complete, one book stories.

At times I felt sorry for Ray Porter who is an excellent narrator, but had very little to work with in this book.

I’ll listen to anything Ray Porter narrates

Ray’s narrating is one of the best. This series was really enjoyable and I was impressed with how well and intriguing the author imagined life outside Earth.

Great start to new series

Interesting blend of Mystery, thriller, and scifi that all pulls together for a great story. Looking forward to the next books in the series.

Mark Boyett a talented narrator who brings the characters to life. I buy most books that Mark narrates because I know the listening experience will be exceptional.

Slow start and quite a set up

I honestly almost gave up on the book. it's nothing new or jaw dropping but you root for the main characters and slightly intrigued with what is going on. could be built up better but again got me to want to get book 2.

Gotta Get the Whole Series!

Excellent book - excellent series. Lots of drama, lots of action, not a lot of profanity. And Ray Porter read it perfectly!

Start your prepping

From the get go the novel is asking the question who do you want to be with at end of everything. The chacthers are given excellent background to them that it truly impact you with every action they take to complete there goals. Do I did think you made the antagonist type chacthers seem 2d in there actions do you did excellent forshadowing what they where go to do in later chs. An finally you should added sound effects for things like rain, cars horns going off, gun shots, and explosions they've would have given segments of novel more realism has the reader heard it.

Great start

Well developed and kept me listening. I liked the characters and how they connected. Great perspectives. This is my second book from the author and again I didn’t like some parts that were too unrealistic. Parts that didn’t have to be. But they didn’t effect the story and it is fiction after all. Can’t wait to start in the second book.
