Featured Article: Listens and Learnings from The Great Resignation

Living through the COVID-19 pandemic put the fleeting nature of human life front and center, and served as a turning point in the lives of millions. Radical shifts in social interactions and ways of working, along with the prevalence of illness and grief, motivated many to reassess their priorities. A staggering number of adult workers pivoted their careers or just plain left the workforce entirely, in a phenomenon that’s been coined The Great Resignation.

WOW! This book is more than inspiring, it’s actionable.

I received an advance copy of FYP and knew instantly that if I applied these truths, it would change my relationships and build deep connections because God created us for community.

In Part 1, Jennie unpacks what our hearts crave and why finding your people is so critical.

Love this from Chapter 2, “We weren’t just built for community; we were built because of it.” And this quote, “I want us to trade lonely and isolated lives that experience brief burst of connectedness for intimately connected lives that experience only brief intervals of feeling alone.”

If you are someone who has a lot of surface level connections and really wants to dive deeper with a selected few and build your tribe, then this book is for you!

Jennie outlines how to find your people on easy to follow steps.

Good concepts but untenable for some people

This book has good concepts, but the listener must use Holy Spirit discernment when prayerfully thinking about applying them. Taking just a few ideas in one’s life could be a good start. Each stage of life has ebbs and flows. Those 40 and under will find this more appealing in my opinion (I am in my 60s).

Spoke to my soul!

I love this book. Jennie has been able to capture, what I believe, to be so much of what I personally needed, and never could express. It’s about intentional friendships and effort. So much is so clear.
Godly, Intimate, and real friendships. That’s what we are building!
That’s what I, and so many of us I feel, long for.

Thank you, Jennie, for your words.

The solution to your loneliness

Jennie is the friend we all need to kick us in gear. You won’t gain friends by sitting at home on your butt.

The biblical connections to God and community were incredibly impactful. She inspired me - an introvert - to do more.

the authors realness

it's a very true story. I think it'll be very relatable for many people who maybe just need guidance with this. I could relate with the author when she said her friend stopped being a friend after almost a decade of being friends it happened 2 years ago but unfortunately it's out of my control it just hurt that I was friends with someone for so long for it to be done in only 2 days
