Little surprises infused in a captivating story.

In spite of overwrought internal dialogue, the story is captivating with a few twists which kept my interest throughout this crazy time of covid & election news.
Overall, this is a good choice to read/hear even without the chaos of the current times.
The narrator is exceptional.

Why do authors think they have to use bad language?

The only reason this book didn’t get 5 stars was language. I’m sad to say the story was good, kept you guessing till the end but just used the F word all the way through. This didn’t add a thing, matter of fact it took away I almost returned it several times but the plot had me and I plowed through. Some people I know are not offended by it but many others are so why feel a need to pepper books with it I don’t understand. I can’t recommend it from r that reason.

Fair across the board

I bought this book on a whim… Have read a few of her others and this is not her best. Not bad but just fair across-the-board.

Not prescribed for non readers!

This book wasn't good for me. It made me neglect my family, pets, job and chores. It consumed my being with its intense narrative. I could not stop listening from start to finish. Now that I've reached the end, I will slowly awaken out of Lucy's world into my own mundane existence, until the next K.L. Slater book crosses my path.

Unrealistic but entertaining

The twists at the end are too much. It doesn't ring true but it was an entertaining book until the end.

Never guess the ending

Always fun listen, KL Slater and Lucy Price- Lewis are a great combination. Exciting the whole way thru.

Love all her books

It’s always a surprise to see how it will end. What the happy ever after will be.

Just when you thought you knew…

This is the third book by this author by the same reader and thoroughly enjoy listening. This specific book brought me to tears at some points. My only question was Jeffrey at the end of the book which was answered with the epilogue. Absolutely love this author.

Blake IS the best kind of man. Honesty should bring more love. Not less. A beautiful story.
