Publisher's summary

The King has returned! But so has the Queen…

Fresh from their trials in New London, Reece and his friends return victorious to the fantasy realm of Nasgar, finally armed with the location of Citadel.

Having unlocked the godlike powers of Kono-Zemsu and raising the level cap to 99, nothing seems able to stand in their way of finally reaching home and saving the people they love.

But things are not well upon their return.

The dreaded Goblin Queen has resurfaced, wielding dark powers beyond anything the realm has seen before. Plus, an old nemesis from Reece’s past is laying siege to his home village as well.

Trapped between two armies, Reece and his friends must reach the new level cap to become strong enough to overcome both foes. As darker forces conspire in the shadows, the fate of not just Citadel, but the entire realm of the Crystal Shards, may be resting in their hands.

Will Reece be strong enough to stop them? With the power of a Kono-Zemsu, he has a chance, but nothing comes easy in the Shards…not even with the power of a god.

Dodge it

I loved it , great story telling and great overall story line. Would have liked it to be a bit longer like the other books. Can’t wait to see what happens next .

Another excellent book in the series

Likable characters, evil bad guys and narrow wins (and escapes). Including a couple unexpected ones. Looking forward to the. Next book!

intriguing

I like the over arching storyline and the fact that the main protagonists aren't just randomly all powerful for the sake of story progression. It feels like the plot points have reasons.

looking forward to the next one!

pronunciation

I dislike how the narrator says "mobs" and "imperator" and certain other words. really pulls me out of the story in those moments. Otherwise a good story and performance

Lifelike

The author has taken so many fantasy elements that are impossible and make them feel real. Brought them to life. I also appreciate that the author makes the female characters just as real as the male characters. One of the traps in this genre is female objectification, but the author didn't fall into that and the women are actually respected, a rare occurrence. Every character is my favorite. The story is addicting....so many mysteries pulling me in. Love it.

And the saga continues... finally!

I love this series and the characters that have unfolded in it. The author does a spectacular job of telling the story. The narration is great and the narrator really draws you in. Since we had to wait almost 4 years from the last book there was a part of me that was hoping this would wrap it up because I didn't want to have to wait another long span for the next one. The other part of me is glad that it's not over and the story continues. I really, really hope that we don't have to wait that long again! I'll definitely be buying the next one.

Still not to bad for being five books in.

This series started pretty neat for me. It was a neat way to make a LitRPG really care about what was going on outside the game, especially with the addition of Bruce trying to solve all the problems back there. Moving to New London was a good way to shake it up in the last book and keep things fresh.

This book brought things back to the starting town to help clean up previous storylines that were left unresolved. It did a decent job of that and was overall entertaining, though nothing amazing. It ended with setting up for an entire new concept that could lead to another neat book.

Overall, if you liked the previous books, this one is worth it. Recommended.
