A useful resource to help heal from trauma. It offers solid advice and tips for dealing with emotional abuse and toxic relationships, helping you to become stronger and more resilient. I did find some sections repetitive at times, so I think it could have been edited some more for a better listening experience.

There are marvelous tips in this book for identifying the parts of yourself that was lost within an abusive relationship. The audiobook goes over simplistic exercises to help you rebuild your support network and to relearn the things that created who you were.

Helpful after painful experience

This is a good, informative audiobook which was very useful after a difficult time. I enjoyed the way it flowed and also really liked the narrator. This kept the topic calm, peaceful and had lots of advice and guidance.

I picked this book up for my sister who's been struggling after an emotionally abusive relationship and the whole trauma bond thing. Honestly, this book hit different.

I can’t even describe how much this book hit home for me. I’ve been stuck in this toxic cycle for so long, feeling like I couldn’t break free. The author's words made me realize I wasn’t crazy for feeling stuck—it’s trauma bonding. The exercises forced me to face some ugly truths, but in a way that actually helped. If you’re tired of going back to someone who doesn’t care, this book gives you real steps to get out and heal. I’m still working through it, but I can already feel the weight lifting. If you need to break free, this book is a real wake-up call.

Also includes the tougher stuff like setbacks and financial recovery, so that you can face them with confidence. By the time I got to the chapter on "rewriting your narrative", I felt this is exactly what I needed to move forward.
