Publisher's summary

The library once stood proud as a beacon of magic and power. For five hundred years, it has been broken.

Quinn can barely handle her own life. When the Library of Everywhere discovers her compatible magical signature, suddenly, she is the sole existing potential librarian. Now, it's not only the weight of her world on her shoulders—Quinn must connect with the library system before the universe itself disintegrates.

Once she's settled, it should be quiet, peaceful work—just as soon as she battles a few engorged bookworms, repairs hundreds of years of damage, and figures out why there's been no librarian for the last several centuries.

And once that's done she can start gathering overdue books. All 18,042 of them to start.

There'll be a helluva lot of late fees to process.

Great find

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, technique holds it back a little, think it could’ve used another round of edits but overall was quite the experience. I will be continuing on and recommend this series

Original!!!

This book took me by surprise! It has a different take on powers of magic that I have not seen before and it all makes a real kind of sense. I know weird but I’m nerding out on this book!
Look forward to the next and well done narration!

epic fun

KT is back and better than ever! Overdue is such a joy and how can anyone not love this creative new take. A loved the realism of Quinn and Dottie was a pure delight of a character. Seriously good book.

Well, that’s different

A little bit slow to start, but once it caught on speed, started to really enjoy this new type of magic system

What an incredible Female MC!!

From the moment I picked this book up I was thrilled with the writing. As the story went on I was even more impressed. I love a book that is entwined with books/libraries. What's better is that the author has combined a library with stats and an incredible female MC who doesn't crap from anyone. As the story continues you get to see some pretty amazing supporting characters who stand behind the MC in such a way that you're not only impressed but wish you could be there right beside them giving her strength and also kicking butt along the way. Will be listening to this multiple times!!

Definitely check this book out!

Wow! I'm a huge fan of K.T. Hanna (and Andrea Parsneau - always perfection with narration!), and this book may be my new favorite! K.T. has this incredible way of writing and developing characters, and I loved the library setting. I really wish that I could visit this library. This was the perfect combination of slice of life and action. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Another hit for the Queen of Cliffhangers

It's with a great sadness that I've come to the end of this book. The latest by K.T. Hanna has left me wanting and waiting for the next.

The interactions between Quinn and Links remind me of every interaction between boss and employee I've ever seen. The expectations of "Why don't you know this?" replied to with "Why didn't you tell me about this?" is such a relatable thing in todays world.

The world-building is as good as it gets, in the literal sense of that phrase. Its details and arcana are as complex as any other work of fiction I've read. It is a third character in the show. Every problem Quinn faces, from giant hungry bookworms to the broken system, adds another layer to a bigger and, because of the consequences packed in, a more immersive universe. The stakes are high because the tension is high. Almost every chapter-end forces you to read on, to know what can possibly happen next.

What makes this book special is that its LitRPG elements are integrated in such a way that they make perfect sense, both for the story and for the world where the protagonist is thrown into. Quinn’s progression, through which she learns new skills and how to repair the library, is hugely enjoyable but also genuinely unique; the quest log and to-do lists make them into actionable plans, thereby making Quinn’s victories feel like the tangible accomplishment they are. The quest log and the checklists – that’s real.

The icing on this beautifully crafted cake is a brilliant Andrea Parsneau narration. She is probably my favorite voice. I loved her performances of "The Wandering Inn" and "Eternal Online" series, and here she just excels again. There is a reason it says "Performed By" rather than "Narrated", because some of the characters have to be her: she breathes life into Quinn, and I just don’t know of anyone who could do it as well as she does. She makes the audiobook better than it would be if the book was just read aloud. Which to me is a huge difference.

All in all, Library System Reset: Overdue by K.T. Hanna is a great mix of magic, adventure, mystery, and danger. I've once dubbed K.T. as the Queen of Cliffhangers, the Sultana of Subtle, the Mistress of Bread Crumbs, and the Slayer of Sledgehammers, and she has once again she has left me awestruck! I don't know how, but she continues to surprise me. It is wonderfully unintentionally meta, and I love that.

Unique setting and great story

Just finished this a few days ago and I thought it was an excellent story. I enjoyed the fact that it was set in a library that is the last bastion of magic. There is a lot of potential in this book and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Interesting

An interesting start. I'm looking forward to the next book. It uses a lot of the litrpg tropes, but feels pretty fresh.
