I like the way the book reminds us that we can say NO to people which in terms my help us with our free time, choices in life and even our health. People will continue to take advantage of us, if we let them. Great core message and compilation. The expectations that other put on us can be debilitating.. So this books helps us take charge NOW.

I wish I read this when I was 16!

If you're someone who always aims to please or struggles to say no, you've gotta read/listen to this book. Most people pleasers know they're in that category and can't stop. There's nothing inherently wrong with people pleasing until it starts to dictate your life and others stop respecting your boundaries. This book is like a roadmap to help people pleasers reset people's expectations and become more effective, assertive, and help them live a life on their terms.

One cool thing about this book is that it doesn't just talk the talk; it walks the walk. It's all about taking action to improve your emotional well-being. The part about emotional boundaries was so applicable to my life. I seriously wish a teenage version of me had been able to read this one chapter.

Even if you aren't ready to dive into the contents and fully embrace what the author is saying, this book is packed with awesome tips on how to stand up for yourself and reset expectations so you'll come away with lots of tools even if you just skim it.

Great Help

This book helped me become aware of how people were taking advantage of my kindness. After listening, I feel confident in my ability to no longer be a people pleaser. I am not worried about what people think of me and although I may lose some relationships to this new mindset, I know that I will strengthen valuable relationships and no longer have people take advantage of me.

Great for people-pleaser

I'm a people pleaser, always worried about what others think. I'm really grateful I got this book - it helped me see that I can set boundaries and still be kind. It shows how to be confident without being rude. I always thought you have to only be one or the other but that's a limiting belief this book has helped me overcome. I loved the tips about work and not letting others treat you badly. that's what troubles me the most. It's super helpful – now I know how to say no without feeling bad. And the best part is it's not just about work; it works in life too! This book is perfect in helping me become my own boss. If you want to feel strong and in control, you should totally check this out. Highly recommended!

Set Boundaries and Self Advocate

This is the audiobook I needed to hear; as a perpetual pleaser, I am now realizing that I never set boundaries. This book helped me recognize this and encouraged me and showed me how to start advocating for myself and setting boundaries. This book showed me that I needed to give myself permission to advocate for myself and that doing so was healthy and empowering. I only wish I had discovered this audiobook sooner!
