Amazing action!

This book is a testament to overwhelming odds, and using the right class skills to overcome. With planning, the MC is able to overcome a lot of things. This is like a more planned out James Bond movie. This is similar to the Resonance cycle by this author in pacing, and fights. Quite enjoyed it!

If you like “The Terminator”, you’ll like this book.

If you like “Blade”, you’ll like this book.

If you like badass main characters, well, you get the point.

This is a very action packed, contemporary sci fi book with a mix of guns and melee weapons. It has a unique “end of the world” storyline, solid characters, and enjoyable fantasy mechanics. I’d say the only thing that this book doesn’t have (and it’s okay that it doesn’t) is a romance subplot. I always love a little romance in a book but, it didn’t ruin my enjoyment of the book; so zero complaint from me.

If I had to complain about this book, it would be that the book brought up theology a lot. Nothing disrespectful or anything, and frankly, pretty well handled. Nonetheless, I always get a bit guarded when a fantasy book brings up real world subjects of a rather sensitive nature. It’s one of a few reasons I generally avoid contemporary fantasy. Like I said, though, it was pretty tactfully handled; regardless of your real world inclinations on the matter.

All that said, it was a really good book and am planning on continuing with the next one.

Tons of action!

Really enjoyed this book. A ton of action and some character development that is really interesting. I am looking forward to see where the story goes and thought the audio performance was excellent!

I'm just getting into RPG Lit as a reader, and I really enjoyed this one! With how fast-paced this is and with the expressive reader, I got wrapped up in the story and just wanted to keep listening - why yes, I can run some errands after work, let me turn on my audiobook ;p. lol. jokes aside, I highly recommend and I can't wait for the next book!

A fun and swiftly paced action story

I enjoyed this swiftly moving story. The characters have a fixed goal and map to it. The character grows in a believable way from his unbelievable roots. I really enjoyed the progression system and I am looking forward to the next book to see how everyone grows and changes. Seeing the main character and his dad grow and evolve as the story progresses is fantastic and something few people do well.

I gave up

Sorry, but I could not finish this one. I tried several times but it was just not for me. Way to modernistic type of story. I like and love things like Jack Reacher stories but this just left me cold.

Others may find it perfect but it was not for me.
