I wish I could give six stars on all fronts
Not a big fan of short stories but -as usual- Amor Towles hits it out of the ball park.
If there is a better or more entertaining writer please let me know because every word, passage and plot were a pure golden delight. I have never enjoyed a book as much as this one!!!

Fabulous short stories
I loved all the New York short stories. They are funny, yet carry deep understanding and insights about human nature.
The LA part was less funny, nevertheless entertaining.

A wonderful “page turner” in true Amor Towles style
I am generally not a short story lover but all of these were terrific especially the last one which was actually more of a novella. Highly recommend.

Engaging
I especially loved the first story for some reason and wished it would continue. But then I met Evelyn. Loved all those interconnected stories. He’s a master storyteller. The narrator was one I was familiar with from other titles (Beautiful Ruins) and I wasn’t sure about him on this one but ended up loving the job he did.

thought-provoking and compelling, based on personal experience
the book starts with one man's journey, with unknown rashes that almost ruin his life. but the experience drives him to research the effects of pesticides on our health. well written and documented, and well worth reading!
