“In wartime,” Winston Churchill wrote, “truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.” For Britain’s counterintelligence operations, this meant finding the unlikeliest agent imaginable - a history professor named Alfred Vicary, handpicked by Churchill himself to expose a highly dangerous, but unknown, traitor. The Nazis, however, have also chosen an unlikely agent.

The narration when done regular voice is great but he made my hate all the female characters because he did voices and accents for them. Why can't books just be read and not acted?

I like Silva's stories - the adventure, the action and his descriptions! But this book has a passage describing dinner that is served while the hero is visiting at a private home. It is the funniest section I have ever heard, this part alone is worth the books price.

Very good story!
Daniel Silva has always been a favorite author, this story is definitely another one of his great stories. The plot development was excellent. Fast paced and suspenseful. The main character Michael Osborne was a flawed character but an excellent operative. His wife Elizabeth was a very strong character who was very stoic and deeply loved her husband. The assassin October and his lover Astrid were also interesting characters. In a way, I felt sorry for Astrid’s demise but Elizabeth had to survive. The narrator kept you hooked through the whole story. Excellent story!

GREAT book - HORRENDOUS narrator
Would you consider the audio edition of The Mark of the Assassin to be better than the print version?
Absolutely not.
What did you like best about this story?
The plot - the characters
How did the narrator detract from the book?
His character voices were so bad that I seriously considered just giving up on it. Especially the female characters.

very good spy thriller.
Overall this is a very engaging and well-written book. it takes a while for it to get going. in the beginning, almost every chapter feels like an introduction and analysis of a new character. But once it kicks into gear it's a fun story in the classic spy genre.
